The Saturn? If you can like that system when you've got 74 Nintendo games you obviously have a strong opinion, which is a good thing :D (I do mean that--the Saturn has a lot of good titles if you know where to look, and if you can overlook its relatively outdated graphics.)

I would say it's a nice collection all right. I've only managed something like 130-140 games or so, but I have a different focus on collecting. Though this could be entirely wrong, I'd say your collection is more focused on getting all-around good titles instead of rares, and being able to play over being able to brag, but I could be wrong.

well for right now i collect the stuff i like, but I am looking to start buying some rares. as or the nes collection thats one of my favorites too, I grew up playing it , but not the saturn( i just bought it in 2000, and i have played a lot of good games on it knowing that the system has a lot of crap on it also).

but i play my ddreamcast a lot too mainly because i loved how you could play online, but now i just play record of lodoss war on it now.

Very nice.

I wish I had some of those machines but other than Ebay, they don't come up too often in the used shops where I live. That's what I like about my NES, N64s and Genesises. Stuff is plentiful everywhere I look.....for cheap. Hunting for the "rare" stuff is fun.

well stores around where i live have a lot but sell for more. like really common snes and genny games(loose) sell for 14.95 a pieace, some nes games are like that also. They must think they're really something, so i go to ebay and rack up in lot auctions.

Seems a lot of places sell 'em for that much; oddly I never seem to find SNES or Genesis games, with the exception of a couple junky post-retail titles that mostly disappeared from the local Blockbuster back in 1999 or so (still a couple old, pretty ugly ones there, games that I'd never pick up). Local Babbage's...well, I recently saw a copy of Valve's Gunman Chronicles that was down to about $5-$10 and that was a big thing. Didn't pick it up, though. Bought a loose copy of Link's Awakening (with a dead battery) for $15. :P

Gotta check those garage sales.

My NES collection would be a lot bigger if the consol was more reliable...Ive always had reliability issues with mine despite changing the PIN and cleaning the games before playing

Get a top loader. COnsidering NES is the best system EVER! the console is worth the 80 bucks you spend.

You really need a VIRTUAL BOY & TG-16 (or DUO)

Did you Collect all of that in 3 years? My Collection has been aquired for a long time now, most of the items were purchased when they originally were released (with th exception of Saturn & Neo Geo)

Since you have a Saturn you should really pick up RS or Guardian Heroes.
I just got my Japanese Sonic Jam this week!

Check out my collection below if you give a hoot.

I have been collecting for about 1.5 years now. This is what games I have collected so far. http://users.ign.com/collection/epimpbot

I have a lot of other systems, peripherals etc too. I don't really focus on one system too much. I do prefer playing the NES though and I own 5 boxed NES's. One boxed Intellivision 2. One boxed Sega Master system. 3 Vectrex's. 1 Genesis. 1 Mega Drive Clone. 1 Boxed SNES. 1 boxed Mega CD. 1 Turbo Grafx. 4 Atari 2600's. 1 Intellivision. 1 boxed Colecovision. 1 boxed Panasonic 3DO. 1 boxed Sega Game Gear.

I will be buying an Amiga CD32 today and I was given a PC engine this past weekend.

That's about all I can remember since I am currently at work.

That's rather good. You did like me and went after a lot of systems and started picking out the games you wanted.

Right now I'm trying to pare down my system count to those I'll really enjoy. Currently that means Neo Geo MVS, Neo Geo Color Pocket, Genesis and Colecovision. An odd mix to be sure :D

That isnt that bad of a collection, but you should try to focus on one system. You have many systems with under 10 games, which isnt a bad thing, but takes up space. I would suggest collecting for you top 2 or 3 favorite systems, and get as large of a collection as possible.

MMMMM a fine collection indeed. Ya the dreamcast rocked, it should have lasted longer. My fav system would a tie between the Dreamcast and Genesis

Nice collection. Im jealous of your Knuckles: Chaotix. I cant find it anywhere, but it would be too much trouble to play anyway, considering I dont have the right connections to hook up my 32x to my Genesis 1... but I digress. Keep up the great collection.

thats a nice collection djbeat, ive been collecting since I was a freshman in high school, ive had 2 jobs since but they weren't for buying video games, just car insurance and car payment. i guess i know what to look for and what prices to pay, or maybe i was just lucky to get that much stuff without spending a lot of cash. Of course i have spent a butt load of cash over 3 years but not at one time except for my 3d0 system (45$) and the 9 games as a starter set(21$) all in all it was 88$ after shipping. I am now gonna buy a turbo grafx 16 and build on my nes, genny, snes collection because the snes and genny collections are really weak.

Just a word of advice to the younger crowd, don't get a car :D . I'm about to turn 18, and I have 15 systems and 1200 games. This includes about half of all US Genesis releases, 100+ PS1 games, 150+ NES games, 100+ SNES games, 75 Dreamcast games, and so on. IMO, the cost of keeping up an old POS car, car insurance, and gas, just isn't really worth it if you don't NEED to have a car. If you can bum rides from friends and use public transportation when needed, you're set. Also, become well acquainted with ebay, as it can be a source of mucho bling bling.

:D indeed! I'm just about 20, no car, but I had a while where I was able to get multiple $150 import games from Japan. I think if I pick up Comix Zone, Alien Soldier, and a dozen more common titles, I'll just about have every Japanese Mega Drive game I want (for a while, anyways).

If you can bum rides from friends...

Yeah, I hate that advice because I'm the guy who everyone needs a ride from while they're blowing their cash on toys instead of responsibilities.

Keep this in mind. I maintain a car and college tuition bills, yet still hold about 1300 games over 37 platforms. Furthermore, I still have beer money - expensive bottled beer, and none of that piss-in-a-can crap. I don't take a dime from my family (not like they really have it to toss around anyway) and rarely work. If you're wise with your money and realistic in your desires, then you can still enjoy this hobby without making sacrifices. Buy a used, but reliable car that runs well. No need for a sports car or SUV or whatever's cool to you. Hell, I'm driving an old station wagon right now, and love the thing because I can easily haul boxes of goods around. It's totally easy to manage everything.

Of course, as was said, if you don't *need* a car, then you're all set. But don't go pissing off your friends for rides all the time so you can drop triple digits of coin a rare game. That's just silly. Put some money in the bank.
