did anybody ever make a video or computer game out of this early 80s myth movie?

I don't even recall ever hearing about any prototypes for a game based on that license... Kinda surprising too considering they made a pretty big amount of licensed merchandise--action figures, coloring books, plastic swords, etc. Would've been a great source for a game too.

Nada. Not even an arcade game as far as I can tell. They did make a board game though.

Why, planning another NECG homebrew?

The closest thing you're going to find to a Clash of the Titans game is an obscure versus fighting game for the Saturn called Battle Monsters. It's got that funky Harryhousen stop-motion animation going on, along with digitized characters for the human fighters. It also seems to be set in ancient times, just like Clash was.
The only problem is that Battle Monsters was a pretty lousy game any way you looked at it.

well yes keir there is a homebrew idea in there somewhere...

it just seems that given the era (early 80s) when even porky's and 9 to 5 could be considered for games this one should have been a no brainer. i mean it was a warner bros, movie and they owned atari at the time, come on they made a krull game!

heres my gameplay idea, lets say its a 2600 game.

you play as perseus attempting to behead medusa. medusa had that funky columned room with the 2 headed dog, and remember her direct gaze turned people to stone, the only way to see her was thru the shield reflection. so imagine this perseus is like the venture guy, a dot with an arrow (which is his sight line), the columns form a maze of sorts, loose maze like combat tanks maze, the dog(s) act like the ghosts in pac man and the trick is to get behind medusa (who would be another dot with arrow type thing) and sword her where she cant turn around (as in a maze corridor). the whole thing is overhead perspective of course. you could also sword (but not kill) the dog, he would only be paused by your sword strikes...

who wants to program it for me :P
