What is the deal with the small super nintendo? Is it forign, rare, valuable, or diffrent in any way?

the Model 2? It's a less common and doesn't have an expansion port, can't really say much else about it. Works just fine as a Super Nintendo though :D

Kinda like the Top Load NES. It's a redesign, and the main difference is the lack of a direct RF out. RF can be used but ir requires the N64/Gamecube-type adapter.

The controllers that came with it are slightly different, sporting a recessed Nintendo oval logo instead of the screen printed SNES logo.

Is it rare? Not really. They're uncommon, sure, but they do turn up at used game stores and most of the stores don't differentiate between the two models.

Another thing about it is, it does not ouput RGB/S-Video, without a mod.

They basically go for the same amount as a regular SNES. Most Gamestops have at least 1 every month, and price them the exact same. They do look pretty sleek though.

Mine most certainly does output S-Video (if by that you mean the three colored prong connector cords such as you get with an N64 or GameCube--the exact same kind works here). I can't say anything about RGB, though.

Uh, no ed. That's standard AV cables. S-video is a different format and is higher quality, and by nature, unmodded the SNES-2 does NOT output s-video. S-Vid usually has the red yellow and white cable, but there is another cable (sometimes it's in the place of the yellow cable) that looks like this:

I've always been wondering about that. Thanks :D

It doesn't have an eject, either.

It's getting a little uncommon to find the smaller version, though.

I just managed to pick one up. I'm changing out all my consoles to their "smaller versions" so that I can save space in my entertainment center! So far, I've replaced the NES/SNES with a top loader and 2nd gen SNES. I'd like to use the Gen 3, but it doesn't support the CD addon...

I have one, and I rather didnt like it when I found out it doesnt support S-video. What are these mods you're talking about?

The smaller SNES isn't really worth trading out for for another reason. It's basically the same width as the regular one, which means that it won't save you any space in your entertainment center :D
