Hey gang,

Well, we all remember "Pac-Man Elbow," right? For those who don't, "PME" was an actual diagnosed condition where folks were getting a tendon sprain from playing too much Pac-Man. It was similar - if not the exact same thing - as "tennis elbow." There was also something called "Space Invaders Wrist," but I'm not sure what that was about.

Anyway, here's a game for today. Come up with a videogame-related injury and explain the conditions that would lead to it. I'll start:

"Dance Dance Sprain" - Occurs mostly in uncoordinated men who try to impress the ladies with their "skillz" on the DDR machine. Often results after a stupidly-attempted "jump and spin" technique at the end of a song.

"Virtual Blindness" - Usually seen in Virtual Boy players after a particularly long session with their console. The eyes have dilated to the size of saucers, and once they lean away from their machine and the sun hits the eyes, the pupils slam shut like blast doors, momentarily blinding the player. Excessive watering is also seen.

Next?

Virtual Boy neck - cramping, stiffness, and eventual muscular induced migraine from keeping the neck and back in such an ungodly stiff and awkward position to play the VB. I've had this one myself many times.

Arcade Cab concussion - Slamming your forehead on the arcade cab when you reach over to take a quick swig of beer at a quiet second during the game. I've done this too.

Baseball Stars broken nose - Slamming your nose on the floor after being tackled because you keep resetting the NES after your opponent wins so they can't keep the money and upgrade their team. I was the tackler, not the recipient that time.
