It's also a print advertisement campaign they're doing. I like the one with the two boxers and one's arm has Samus' taped over it. I think the boxers are famous, but I think boxing is a stupid sport and don't keep up with it. There's also one with some goofy old men riding Go Karts and Mario's face is taped over one of them.

This campaign has had me scratching my cranium and muttering "double-u-tee-eff" ever since I saw this one photo of a plethora of people wearing Mario masks, a few of Peach, and I think a few of Luigi. This entire sojourn still baffles me. Nintendo, PLEASE explain youself!!! x_x :hmm: :?

The main reason behind the 'who are you' campaign is to push brand recognition and to remind people that Nintendo has a stable of recognizable and familiar characters. Basically the Big N is falling back on it's name recognition to help drive sales this year. I'm still a little iffy on the who are you campaign, but anything is better than Nintendo's attempts at edgy, extreme marketing.

I think that's Muhammad Ali and Joe Fraizer. Not 100% on that, but I'm pretty sure. :O

I think the "Who Are You?" campaign is the best one Nintendo has had in years. The website is fun to mess around with too. You can make your own cut outs and "tape" them to the pictures. Good fun. In fact, I have one of the screensavers you can download on my computer right now.
I agree with the "extreme" marketing for Nintendo--it usually backfires. Take last night for instance-- the Playmakers (the M rated series on ESPN) season finale was sponsored by Gamecube. Nice attempt to reach older gamers, but then they screwed it all up, and showed ads for Mario Party 5. WHY are they marketing Mario Party 5 during a telecast for "mature audiences?" I understand the Viewtiful Joe, or 1080 Snowboarding even, but MARIO PARTY? It looked really out of place. Especially when the show is all "shit this, shit that."
