I just found out that I will be doing a great deal of traveling in the next 1-2 months. I'm looking to trade for an original GBA with the afterburner modification (including the dimmer). I'm not interested in the SP due to the hinge and the proprietary battery pack. If you have one in good shape (no major scratches) then PM me immediately. I can probably make a trade worth your while. Box and packaging are not required, but would be a nice plus. I'll also take any color, although my preference would be the clear/glacier.

What hinge, and what about the battery pack?

The SP folds up like an old motorola flip phone, and it uses a LiIon(iirc) battpack unique to the system.

The hinge is a valid concern, mine's been fairly loose since I got it, new.

What hinge, and what about the battery pack? The hinge on the SP - you know - to open and close the screen. As far as the battery pack, my guess is that he won't have access to outlets for recharging purposes very often as he travels (I had mine power down in an airport during a 6 hour wait. That sucked) and batteries are cheap and plentiful. I can see his reasoning. But that's gonna be a tall order.

I bought a GBA with Dimmer (Platinum) from yourhappyplace.com It does not appear like they actually sell the systems with the lights already installed anymore.
