I am simply interested in hearing some opinions. this game has ports on nearly every major system of it's era. What is your favourite console port and why?
Mine is the SMS. It's tighter than the NES one IMHO.

The SNES rendition is an entirely new game, not a port. Same goes for the Game Gear.
Also, might want to add the "just released today" GBA version. I'll be getting this weekend. Anyone beat me to it?
I'm always partial to the NES...more levels, segements, etc. The hit detection rocks compared to the SMS rendtion. However, the Genesis port was, in theory, perfect, though sped up.

I prefer the nes version for the same reasons as Gamereviewgod. I will also be getting the GBA edition next week.

No, the Geo version is a one-on-one-fighter.

Voted ...I figured what I voted for would be the fav..
When I bought Double Dragon for the MVS..I was hoping it was like the original/s...but it's a great one on one fighter in it's own..

The controlls in the genesis versions are horrible
I prefer:
1. Super Double Dragon (SNES): yeah I know slowdown BUT great soundeffects, gameplay, levels and 2player mode.
Did you know that this game is "banned" in germany? <---stupid
2.Double Dragon 2 (NES)

the sms version is an absolute flicker-fest. Yes it has more colors, but all that means to me is that it will have prettier screenshots in magazines. The nes version is the most fun, but why oh why is it only 1 player? If it had've been 2 player simult. it would have been perfect.

The flicker on the SMS version isn't too bad, especially considering there's more on-screen enemies than the NES version.
