Uh, that's what the eBay subject line says! :eek 2:

Even more amusing, look at his anti-sniper stance in his auction description. "If you snipe, I will *not* honor your bids!" Whatta ass. This auction will be shut down within hours.

No feedback. what a great way to start your ebay experience.

As a seller, that's as stupid as you can get. If the person snipes and wins you get more money, if the person doesnt win you get more money. Could you report this person as a nonselling seller? Can you legally, by ebay, add arbitrary rules to your auction about when a person is allowed to bid on your auction?

I wish, for this kind of reason, that eBay would put a "report this auction" link on every single auction that goes up. It IS a pain to navigate through the section to report a violation of the terms/conditions.

Amen, but they don't want to do that. They want auctions to go through, and they don't want the extra headache of more reports of bad auctions.

Does anyone think that's really porn? I just figured he put that in the topic thinking maybe he'd get more auction hits. Am I naive?

I doubt there is any porn in the auction. He probably just put it in the title to generate more interest. He doesnt even describe the DVD full of porn...

I still haven't even figured out how to do that, and I've been using eBay for years... @_@

As for saying when people are allowed to bid, don't forget about those auctions where the seller doesn't allow any bids until the last 2 hours. I hate those! >.<

If you look at the picture, it looks like there are two discs: one in a paper sleeve on bottom, and the Ms. Pac Man lying on top of the sleeve (look at the overlapping centers) Maybe I'm just being too picky though.

This reminds me, I think it was 3-4 years ago, but a $1 store in the Detroit area was selling these Rugrat activity PC games. Well, it turns out that it was actually adult material (can't remember if it was video or pics or what). The disc says Rugrats Activity, but what was on it was totally different. Made the 6 o'clock news and all.

Actually, I applaud his stance on snipers. IMO snipers are annoying from a buyers as well as a seller's standpoint. And truthfully, the only people who would have a problem with his tactic WOULD be snipers.

You're so full of crap. Snipers RAISE the price of every auction.
The only people who complain are non-snipers.
And please explain how a sniper is in the least bit annoying to a seller. :hmm:
Please try to post something intelligent for a change.

ATTENTION SNIPERS!! I can't stand people that use automated bidding software to prevent competitive bidding. I WILL...WILL...WILL end this auction early. So if you really want this deal enter you bid and enter it early! It may end 1 hour or 12 hours early so don't chance it if you want it. If I do allow this auction end on time and I see a bid come in in that last 6 secs. I will NOT honor your bid

Clearly this guy had another ebay account that must have gotten suspended. Why? As a new seller with zero feedback, how the hell would even know about snipers? He should be reported just for for that.

Next, he is violating ebays policy with respect to advertising XXX material, or he is falsely advertising the product he is selling.

Third, he admits that he will end an auction early, yet still sell the product to high bidder. This potentially violates ebay's policy of avoiding ebay fees, not to mention costs ebay lost $ in potential increased FAV fees.

Fourth, he is admitting up fron that he may be a non-selling seller.

Pardon my french artfromallwalksoflife, but you're an asshole.

How does sniping prevent competive bidding? What is the difference if I use a snipe program or physically enter the bid at the last second? I will not bid on an item six days in advance, unless its the opening bid. Go to any real auction and the heavy hitters always bid late. Moreover his whole logic on sniping is flawed. If there is an item at $10 with a proxy of $15 with less than a minute to go, the item will sell for $10 if there are no other bids. If I snipe at $20.01 at 10 seconds to go, he just made an extra $5.50. Sellers benefit from sniping. He is basically telling people to not bid on his auctions, and that is just plain stupid.

Why don't you answer me this, if sniping doesn't create lower selling prices then why do snipers snipe?

The answer from what I can see is to avoid starting a biding war which can only raise prices and benefit a seller.

And judging by this auction I must not be the only seller who feels this way.

Ok, while sniping wont raise prices to the level of a noob bidding war, it still raises prices. And the way the auction format is setup on Ebay, it is ridiculous to tell people not to snipe since there is no good reason for them to bid 6 days early so the price could be raised to triple what it's worth. I realize the reason for selling is to make money, but this is pure greed. Are you that afraid that someone might actually get a fair or good deal on an item you sell. I shouldnt have to bid against every noob on ebay to try and get something for what it's worth. If I snipe, I bid as high as Im willing to pay and at the same time Im sniping, there are other people doing the exact same thing. I wish sniping was as big a hurt to sellers as you make it out to be, because I would get a lot more items for a lot cheaper.

And judging by this auction I must not be the only seller who feels this way.

That makes 2, anyone else?

I sell.

Any bid is a good bid. Sniping is fine. Noob bidding is fine. As long as the winner pays, who cares?

I never bid until the closing minutes.

I hate it when people whine about snipers. In my opinion it puts in some competition and makes it more fun. Suspensful till the end. And if a seller says not to snipe he must not like money, or maybe hes just an idiot?

Although sniping raises the final price 95% of the time, it is unfair to say that it always does. If you are selling a high demand item, sniping will be beneficial to the seller. However, for very low demand items that only have maybe 2 or 3 interested buyers, sniping can keep the price artificially low. Since sniping won't come till the end, the bid that gets sniped will be much lower than it might have been with early (non-snipe) bids. ie: 99 cents could get sniped up to $1.04 instead of $8 getting sniped up to $8.50.

HOWEVER, sniping is GREAT for sellers on the whole and I find it hard to believe that ANY seller would complain about sniping.
