With the dreamcast system effectively dead , I was thinking that stores (EB & Gamestop/Funco) will probably be pulling their Kiosk Dreamcast Systems from the floor. I would love to buy one, does anyone know if they will be for sale anywhere?

I'm in the process of buying the one at my store. But I think you have to talk to Sega, because they technically own them still and basically "rent" them out to stores.

I've had mine ever since november 2001 !!! I paid only $35 for it :D from my old job at Target ... they took it out because of Xbox and Gamecube !! :( but Glad I was able to give it a better home than seeing it going in the TRASH ! they also gave me a free N64 system along with Mario Party 3 with the DC system and tv everything in the kiosk set up ... although one control pad and control pad arm is missing :( ...but it looks nice !!!

Yes, I do. I think it's gorgeous, too. That is, of course, aside from the monitor. It's red border is my least favorite thing about it. It's still amazing, though.

I ended up buying one from someone local, who had it on ebay for 150.
I love it.

I just checked out your collection, and I must say that it is truely MASSIVE! How many games do you have total (approx)? You look to have at least 700+ nes games, probabley more. SWEET COLLECTION!!!
I also agree with whoever said that the Dreamcast Kiosk looks like a Computer Space cabinet. LOL

i was pissed i found a kiosk in the back near a local gamestop dumpster not even 2 weeks ago, the tv was smashed and the kiosk was bashed up and the dc was missing, it was almost unrecognizable, what a waste

Thanks for the compliment. Honestly, I have no idea how many I have. I've never bothered to actually count them, it would take too long and the number is constantly changing. I know that I'm about 20-30 away from having a complete NES collection but I'll never complete it because I still need most of the uber-expensive ones and I'll never pay full price for them.

I've always wanted one of those DC kiosks.
I want to get into collecting store display stuff, then maybe put all my games up on wall racks like at EB, lol. It'd look like I opened a store in my basement.

I got one for free almost 2 years ago. I totally dismantled it, cleaned everything and replaced the controllers with new ones($4.00 each). Then, the new controllers were bagged up, and the DC unit is used instead with 4 separate controllers. My kids keep going back to the DC and so do I.

My local Gamestop has a non-functional Kiosk sitting unused in their storeroom... So far I've been stonewalled at every attempt to purchase it. Anybody have any "magic bullets" for getting them to sell? I've offered to buy it outright, and to buy a bunch of used games as payment (so it wouldn't have to be 'on the books'). But no luck.

Um, keep going higher up. Everybody has a boss, and eventually, just tell a higher up that it is just wasting space and you have no intention of reselling it.

My Gamestops district mangaer gave away all of the old kiosks to employees a year or so ago. I believe it was 2 N64, 2 Playstation, 1 Saturn, 2 Dreamcast, including the Dreamcast I nabbed. It would make sense to me that with all the new systems and games coming out, they would want to get rid of them anyway. They're not using them anymore.
Maybe if you tell them you'll reserve 20 games or so, they'll bite. :D
