Not bad. It's helpful in sketching out the game, though the few attempts at humor are rather flaccid. I'll give it a 6.

I agree with Kid Fenris on this one. I will give it a 7, because it did seem like a walkthrough more than a review until the end. I think you should get strait to the point after the intro, rather than telling how to play the game. The pictures were enjoyable, and showed all they needed to show, but i really dont read reviews to see how to play the game.

4.

Too much information. It might make a nice walk-through.

4. Not a review, it's a walkthrough with a spattering of critique.

Too much info on the game itself not on how the game was.

I just don't see a lot of reviewing of the game as opposed to walking through it. 5/10. No more, no less.

I'm going to have to disagree with the above posters, and say that the mini-walkthrough was a good technique. I'd rather be put into the game for a little while than hear "the graphics are bad because ________, the sound is (insert HILARIOUS hyperbole here)."

Great background info on episodes of the show, some actual humor, and most importantly, I have a good idea of what this game is like. I mean seriously, what's a better way to inform people whether or not they should play a game, a reviewer's personal opinions or a reviewer's study of what playing this game is like?

I'm going against the grain and giving this one a 9. I enjoyed it immensely. While the organization is a bit off, I found that I didn't really give a shit.

My favorite so far.

Considering the nature of the game, a walkthrough-style approach was actually a pretty good way to go. It would have really helped if the introduction provided more of a "big picture" view of the game to orient readers before plunging right into the walkthrough, however. Still, since there is some real critiquing going on near the end, I think this qualifies as a decent review.

7/10

But I must give the webmaster a lower grade for failing to account for the way pictures wrap when I resize the browser window. ;)

Quote from the review:

I could continue on, and make this a walkthrough, but instead I'll fast-foreword to some highlights for Alf fans.
When you open up the closets in the house, ...

That's exactly the problem. :)

The review suffers from a simplistic dichotomy. In the first part the reviewer tries to give an impression about the game by describing it, the second part is an analysis and an evaluation. Both parts coexist, they aren't linked.

The first part gets lost in descriptive details which assumes a walktrhrough character. It should have been shortened by 80%, the impression about gameplay and the game itself could have been summarized to the important points.

The second part fails to incorporate the described gameplay in the evaluations, which would have made the evaluations more convincing and effective. (and the descriptions much shorter!)

Strenghts:

1. Some constructive proposals to make the game better.
2. Good comparison to E.T.
3. The usual evalaution-criteria are to the point and overall well reasoned.

OVERALL: 4/10

There was too much of a walkthrough feel than an actual review. The information given for the gameplay and sound are fine. I would have liked to see a better description of the graphics other than just the alf sprites.

Good introduction, but the review turns into a strategy guide at some point. The information doesn't have enough in the graphics department. The screen grabs are plentiful and very helpful, but the review needs more details than strategy.

More walkthrough than review. Rambles. Needs editing.

I'll give this one a 7/10.

It's well-written and informative, it could use a little more commentary about the gameplay and some personal impressions from the reviewer. I like the off-beat style though, and how many reviewers do you know who would go out of their way to show you - using their own skills - how a game could be improved graphically? That's great stuff!

Overall nice job, needs a little tweaking.

I'm going to guess Raccoon Lad on this one.
