8.
I would go 9, but I dropped a point because the review states that the game was only available for Atari computers and the Atari 5200.
I owned this for my C64, and it's also available for the Amstrad CPC.

I will also go for an 8. I always think that it is necessary to rate the graphics, sound, gameplay, and replay factor in a review. So that subtracted 2 points...

Agreed, the missing review sections of the game itself really detract from an otherwise nice article. 7/10.

I think it is worth a 7. It spends a little too much time telling a story rather than actually reviewing the game. However, I was captivated and my attention was held to the end. Also, nice touch on the advice to the reader.

Gah. There's one paragraph about the actual gameplay, and three paragraphs about the game, its hardware, and its predecessor. This simply will not do.

This review was very good, with only very minor flaws. Among them:
* The author states that picking up an item turns the mutants friendly. Assuming they behave as in the original, they aren't friendly; rather they become vulnerable, similar to the behavior of ghosts and power pellets in Pac Man.
* And, to nitpick, the original plays very well with the stock 5200 controller. If he/she has never played the 5200 version, it isn't wise to jump to conclusions about the controller issue there.
Admittedly, those are 2 really minor nitpicks, so I have to give this review a 9 out of 10.

The review of the game itself is decent. Definitely needs to have reviews of graphics, sound, gameplay, etc. Doesn't feel complete without it.

I like the information given, but I wanna know more about the graphics, gameplay, and sound. This review does read well, and contains some nice screen grabs, but I think it needs much more information.

Reviewer spends half the review on personal antidotes about acquiring the game and what his gaming set up is. The actual review doesn't say much about what makes the game good, nor would it be that helpful to someone who hasn't played Miner 2049er as far as explaining the gameplay. In fact, there isn't that much reviewing going on as the reviewer doesn't really give much opinion on the game at all.
Score: 3

I'll give this one a 7/10.
Personally I like the anecdotal approach. I do want to read about the game, but I'm just as interested in the writer's personal experience with it, In this case, he/she has chosen a collectible, a rarity... which almost always has some interesting acquisition story behind it.
The review of the game itself is where the piece shows some weaknesses. I'm getting the impression that he's a Miner 2049'er fan who hasn't played too deeply into this game. He's also assuming that I understand the play mechanics of Miner 2049'er and that I'm going to have trouble with my stock 5200 sticks. Masterplay interfaces aer almost as hard to find as Bounty Bob nowadays!
It was a good read, but an average review IMHO.
