10.
Sigh. The first one I've read that I thought was better than mine. :)

10!
This is an excellent review, and the best i have read so far. The person put the feeling of playing the game into words, which is freaking hard to do. GREAT review. Thumbs and toes up.

9. Awesome review, covers everything! There was just some inking of something I can't put my finger on that doesn't quite let me give it the 10. But it's damn close.

* No mention of Eugene Jarvis, who designed both Defender and another coin-op classic, Robotron: 2084.
* Another writer who doesn't know it's from its, but mostly solid grammar otherwise.
* Very good gameplay description. Probably the best I've read so far in the contest.
* Sputters to a close, with two uses of the phrase "all-time greats" and two uses of the phrase "into the zone."
7/10.

A well written review that covers everything about the game. There is also a good amount of information in each section. I don't see any problems with whats presented.

Great review, and images help out a lot. In this, I'm glad to see that a lot of emphasis was placed on getting the reader to know more about the game. The amount of detailed information was sufficient enough to even get me to play! The reading was easy, yet somewhat engaging. Thumbs up :)

Top shelf. Though I feel the writer went on a little long with the game play description, the writer actually lets the reader know what makes this game good and why someone should play it. Maybe it could have been worked into the review a bit more smoothly, but I appreciate the reviewer telling me why I should play the game rather than just telling me about the game.
With a pinch of editing, this would be a really great review. As it stands, it's a serious contender.
Score: 9

I'll give this one a lovely 9/10.
You know. it's damn near perfect. I'm deducting a single point only because it nearly lost me at the beginning with the lengthy description of the game. That could have been shorter, but once I read past it the remaining "review" portion was a delight. This captures both the enthusiasm for the game as well as the details for those who (have been hiding under a rock for 20 years) don't know it.
Excellent.
