7.

Above average, but too long. Lots of good details, almost too much.

Is there music in this game? I can't tell. Overall, not bad, very in-depth, but it felt more like a promotional than a review for some reason. 8/10 here.

Well, I've read quite a few reviews of Disgaea but this one told me things that I haven't heard anywere else. Well-written and personable but could've possilby benefitted from just a BIT more concision. 8/10.

8 of 10

Benifited more on the game itself even though it was missing a couple paragraphs that were important.

This review seems to cover all the bases, but its organization is lacking slightly. And yet again, I still have no idea of [i]just what exactly I would do in this game[i]. I daresay the battle system is what makes or breaks a game like this, but there's not enough information about it. And just what is so funny?

6/10

Uhm...I'm guessing you really didn't read the entire review because some of your questions were indeed answered...

What exactly do you do?

you have to deal with a number of pretenders to the throne, the sneaky machinations of your second in command, Etna, and a bunch of greedy and powerful senators who aren’t much help unless they’re bribed or defeated in battle. There’s a lot more, but you’ll have to really see it for yourself

Just what is so funny?

some occasionally bawdy humor and a really bizarre plot

and

The English voice acting is absolutely hysterical- somehow, Atlus managed to hunt down vocalists who pull off the personalities without a hitch. Laharl is arrogant yet slightly whiny, Etna’s acid tongue and sassy, icy tone are evenly balanced by her bizarre sense of humor, and Flonne is completely innocent and clueless (“Nin, Nin, Nin”). There’s a great sense of the ridiculous on display here....

However I agree that the review does lack some organization and the author does tend to go off on tangents. 2nd to last paragraph for example. They start off talking how great the game sounds, , throw in a parental warning end then end up with how funny the game is.

Also, there was too much detail about some parts, and not enough about others. We don't need to know about "Legendary" and "rare" items, I want to know about the battle system and what makes it so different from every other RPG I have played (and no, I have never played Tactics Ogre).

And you can take enemies and force them to be on your side? I won't say this is completely wrong, just that I am 80% through this game, and can't back this up with my experience, info in the manual, or info on several of the online walkthroughs.

All in all, I think its a great review, and its important to realize how much detail they REALLY could have gone through, but DIDN'T. There is just that much to the game.

8/10 here. Good job!

If I may be so bold...

This still doesn't say just what you're doing. You could structure a platform game around a plot like that if you really wanted to.

Argh. I hate it when the reviewers come in to comment on their own reviews...well, I'd probably do it too (if anybody put the review down) but I have to say it makes concentrating on the review a little bit harder.

First off, covered all the bases (point totals, great screenshots) and provides very good intro/conclusion paragraphs. I certainly feel I know the game somewhat after reading this review.

The review's structure was not an issue for me, and as it kept to the straightforward "good stuff first, bothersome issues last" formula, I'm perfectly OK with other stuff being more or less presented in an impersonal narrative form. It's a breath of fresh air from GameSpy reviews, after all.

Length works well here.

A very solid 9.5/10 -- highest score from me so far.

For the record, I did not write this review.

Oh, lol. It seemed to me that you were defending the review.

Well, that doesn't change anything, and there's nothing bad about crticizing the game review critic's comments (how's that for a tounge twister?)

Good review overall. Everything is described well, and the reviewer stops just before going overboard. I do think that the review could have been organized a little better though.

Not bad. In fact, quite good. How is the soundtrack in this game? All aspects are covered, and the screen grabs are good. Sometimes the organization threw me off.

A little disorganized, but still pretty good. Some of the language is a little too casual for me. With a little more tweaking, this would be a really good review.

Score: 8.75

I'll give this one a whoppin' 9/10.

When I read a review of a game that I do not own, it should either excite me enough to buy it (if it's a good review) or explain why the game may NOT be right for you (if it's an average-to-worse review). This review does that perfectly. Lots of detail about the game's unique features and style.

I only took a point off because it DOES assume that I know about this genre, and though Final Fantasy Tactics and Ogre Battle are fairly commonplace references, a little detail about how the game flows may tune a newbie in to the wonderful world of SRPG's.

Excellent job.
