4/10 (Mediocre)

A great way to ward off newcomers is to use a "members only" term like SHMUP right away.

All this talk about shooters, and there's nothing more than a cursory sentence about the mechanics of the genre. Someone comming from the Doom/Quake community might have a totally different perspective.

"Invaders from another world have begun to invade." Oh man...

I did enjoy the description of the mechanics of the wingmen feature, especially where the reviewer talked about how you were forced to change your own play mechanics in different situations.

Bad grammar, obscure terms (SHMUP), and not a lot of focus give this one a 5/10.

Grammar and spelling are my biggest gripes. I've thought a lot of the critiques that mention "insider terminology" have been a bit unfair, but SHMUP really should at least be explained in parentheses the first time you use it.

I would've liked to have seen how it compares to other 8-bit shooters as well (1942, Sky Shark, etc).

5/10.

Tonight will be the last batch of "cuts".

If your review isn't locked at midnight tonight, you're entitled to the Digital Press subscription, and your review will be moved onto the main contest site.

Unfortunately, not every review will make it.

This one is getting cut. Low review scores from our judges and forum. Sorry! Thanks for playing though... there are lots more contests coming up :)
