The person even told about Yu Suzuki which is a must. He told everything that you needed, and even described the 4th disc. Good review, but not 10 material. The history of the character was a definite plus also.

Nice review, pretty informative and well rounded, but he needs to improve the layout a bit more. It got a bit messy in presentation.

It's more like a checklist of the game than a review. I like it, and it has TONS of great info, but the format needs help. Could definitely use a rewrite/reorg, but it's good. 7/10

I counted three instances where the reviewer said "LEGEND," in all caps. This is either a hilarious inside joke, or a lack of proofreading.
I love Shenmue also, so I was happy to gush around in my love for a while, but there isn't much here beyond how AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL and LEGENDARY the game is. I don't believe someone who has never played the game would really have a grasp on what it's like with this piece.
Well-written, though, and I'd say at least worthy of a "thumbs up." I have no doubt that it would fit in nicely on Digital Press. As a serious review piece, however, I'm going to give it a 7.

I'm not sure how to review this review. It seemed to have a lot of information, but just didn't feel like what I was looking for in a review. I can't put my finger on the problem, though.
7/10.

Nice review.
Deducted points for some akward writing ie: "unexpected arrival of unwanted visitors."
Also deducted points for the review being complete, as there were no values assigned for Graphics, Sound, Gameplay or Overall.
Having said that, it is a good review.
The author seemed to have a real passion for the game, and that shone through here.

So much detail about the game itself and the storyline which made me feel like I was reading a famous novel.

No offense, but you should read more famous novels.
"In closing everything about Shenmue is perfect and beautiful in everyway. The music and beautiful story telling will leave you with a tear in your eye, a special feeling in heart and wanting more, this is what Shenmue did to me and more. Every gamer has to experience the beauty of Shenmue; it is an experience you will never forget. Thank you so much Yu Suzuki-san for your amazing, beautiful Shenmue games along with all your classics."
That's four "beautifuls" (three and one beauty) in four sentences.

* Leading the review with the game's pretentious "prophecy," in combination with the perfect-10 scores, is an immediate indication that we're dealing with a Sega fanboy.
* Fanboy status confirmed by this sentence: "Created by Video Game LEGEND and mastermind Yu Suzuki-san..."
* The review spends more time on the Passport disc than the game itself.
0/10. Fanboys and meaningful reviews do not mix.

Aargh. It seems as though the plot, a disc of extras, and the viewpoint of the game designer are the most important parts of this game. What do you do? What are your goals? Is the fighting challenging? Is it an RPG-like battle system? Details, details!

There is a nice base for a good review here, but there is a lot of unneccesary information. I don' think there is any need for the quotes, and the info on the passport disc can easily be trimmed to a sentance or two. The story is described well, as is the game system, but there needs to be info on the gameplay, sounds, graphics, etc.

Good review. Lots of information, but lots of minor errors too. The reading was easy at times, then became redundant at times (like so). Still, it was an okay review.

Is this a review or a piece of ackwardly written promotional literature? There's nothing remotely critical or review-like in here. Heavy on the fanboy though.
Fairly good explination of what Shenmue is, but this isn't a review so much as it is a summary of the game. Reviewer seems too boiled over by the hype and personal feelings about Yu Suzuki to deliver a review.
Score: 6

I'll give this one a hmm...
This was the hardest one to critique. I like the fact that it branches off into some intangible stuff, like the quotes and the description of the passport disc, and I like the fact that it's quite clear that the reviewer has the utmost respect and admiration for the game and its creators, but for almost those same reasons it loses points. While I enjoy reading about the reviewer's personal "take" on a game, I get a little worried that the review itself has turned fanboy and/or is overly gushing. Sometimes a person falls in love with a game and suddenly fails to see ANY shortcomings or room for improvement, and that makes me think I'm not reading an objective review of the game anymore.
So.
Let's give this one a 6/10, based strictly on the fact that this is how well the actual game is reviewed and explained.
