Despite some writing weaknesses here and there, this is a generally well-written review that's highly informative. We can see that the reviewer is very knowledgeable about wrestilng and about previous games in that series, allowing us to put this title into perspective.

I think the author fails to realize his audience. This review would go over well in a wrestling publication. However, here it assumes too much of the reader.

Right off, in the second paragraph, the name-dropping begins. I have no idea who any of these people are, and because of it my eyes (and indeed my mind) trail off.

Later on, the review is clogged down by ways to customize wrestlers to resemble more people I've never heard of.

I'll admit to not being a wrestling fan, but I've done my best to give this review a fair chance. It's very, very informative, and the author feels strongly for the game, so I'm going to give it a generous 7. I'd suggest that in the future, the author focus more on the game than the fanboyisms, though.

6.

Too long, with too much wrestling information. As someone else stated, the audience here is game players, not necessarily wrestling fans. All that space spent talking about specific wrestlers should be cut.

Why do I care about Wrestlemania 19? What does that have to do with this game? Bad grammar and fanboy-ism marr this otherwise perfectly serviceable review. What the hell is a ladder match? Is it all fought on ladders? I just don't get all the in references. They lost me...and this review. 4/10

Sounded very choppy and felt like it was rushed and not a lot of effort was put in it.

I became so bored with all the superfluous wrestling information that I started to lose interest halfway through. What was left seemed fairly informative.

Being a wrestling fan for many years, I know of the wrestlers and match types that were mentioned in his article. Also, having this game being one of the few games that I still regularly play on my N64 helps me to relate to the review. I know what the author is trying to say, I know the quirks of the game, and I know the problems with graphics and other components.

Despite my knowledge of all this, I did not find the review to be very informative beyond just game aspects, the small list of wrestling features and whatnot included. It would have been more beneficial to generalize over the wrestling component, and just state the basic facts about WHAT the game offers wrestling-wise, and focus on the video-game specifics of the game. More information about gameplay, game capabilities (graphics and sound-wise) would be of higher importance when looking ata video game review. Beyond this, I would still give a 6/10 based on the explanations that were given regarding this wonderful game. It is a true gem in the collection.

There is a lot of good information in this review. I do however agree that it seems to be aimed more at a wrestling fan. Even so, it is a solid review with only a few mistakes.

Another very informative review. Even with the underlying slant towards wrestling fans, I find this review to be thorough and effective. Being a geek, I only like extensive paragraphs if they're worth reading. The ones in this review are. Every aspect is covered in detail and the screen grabs are a nice addition as well. It's a great review, and that's the bottom line 'cause PC said so!

8.5/10 :)

I don't watch wrestling, so too much of this review means nothing to me. Too long, too much discussion of wrestling not related to the gameplay. In short, this might be useful to someone who follows WWF but to me it's lacking.

I'll give this one a 7/10.

I think I'd score it higher if I were keeping up with my wrestling news, but I found myself trying to skip past the details of individual wrestlers so I could find the game information. There was a little too much hunting, in fact. What's here that informs the non-WWE-cognizant-but-still-wrestling-game-fans among us is very good, though. It's obvious the writer has some experience with the genre, and I would have preferred more comparisons to other wrestling titles to the details about particular characters in the game. Well done.
