I know from experience that Funcoland gives $35 store credit for NES systems and $14 store credit for Genesis systems. Is there a way to find out how much they give for games without actually bringing them to the store? I checked their website and found nothing there.

There used to be a small book-ish thing in the store...a bunch of pages in plastic sleeves that listed the trade-in values of every game. But that went out when Barnes & Noble bought Funcoland. Too much hassle to keep updating the list, I guess.

remember when funcoland used to give out those newspapers that listed all of the game prices? Those were some damn good times.

I also remember the days when Funco used to have the good stuff like Sega CD, TG16, etc. Cripe, I even miss picking up Saturn and Game Gear stuff there. Stupid corporate crap.

I don't miss those days... because I missed them completely! It's been a while since they've had anything like that. *sigh*

Some of the Funcos around here have been putting Saturn games back on the shelf. Of course, they are the same crap ones that TRU was blowing out a while back. One of the employees told me they were trying it to see if the demand was there and all I could think was maybe they'd see more demand if they actually had games that weren't all over eBay for pennies on the collar (sports games, etc.)

I also remember the horrors of the last days of Saturn at this one Funco where they had both Panzer Dragoon Saga and Shining Force 3 and THREW THE BOXES AND MANUALS AWAY TO SAVE SPACE!!!

Not suprizingly, none of the employees seemed fazed by this in the least.

I saw a Nomad at Babbages once, and am still kicking myself for not picking it up.

The Funcoland in my area have started giving $30 credit for NES consoles down from $35. Is this the same in other areas of the country as well?

Mine too. I think it was because I sold them too many NES decks I have when I traded a bunch for a Gamecube. :D

Yup, the one here in Braintree, MA has gone down to $30 too. :(

I asked if they had any plans to stop selling the older stuff and they said no, so that might be regional (or the guy I spoke to might be clueless, but that's not my impression).

It's official! MY Local Babbages is going to stop selling NES and SNES after November 1st :( They are sending in their current stock to some warehouse probably for the gamestop website.

I'm sooo sad :( They pricegouged everything I already had and sold me games like Big Nose and Micro Machines for 89 cents.. *CRY*

My local Funcos say that they still plan of selling NES games. The price for trading in consoles went down because they have just been getting in so many more in recently.

I've been trading in about 2-3 a month recently. I pick them up with a bunch of games for like $20-$25 and then trade in the console alone for $35. The games end up free like this.
