Jagfest 99 was held in Rochester, Minnesota.

The other nearby game events that have happened are the Twin Galaxies event at the Mall of America (don't know what years that ran), Jagfest 2K1 in Milwaukee, the Midwest Classic in Milwaukee (2002 and 2003) and the Video Game Summit in Chicago (2003). Both the Midwest Gaming Classic and VGS are returning in 2004, but I don't think that there is anything else in Minnesota :(

I quite enjoyed Rochester when I was there for JF99. I've got a picture of me in front of that awesome corn water tower thing!

I think that there should be a show in Minnesota for sure...there's a lot of collectors because of Funcoland which was based in Minnesota...thus tons of classic games! Especially NES.

It is a bit off topic, but now that we got a bunch of Minnesota people together....
I am going to be visiting my brother in St. Paul in the near future. He is not much of a gamer and thus I don't know if he knows where to get games. So could any of you please be so kind as to point out any game stores that they don't have in Omaha (i.e. other than Gamestop, E.B., etc.) in the Twin Cities area? Preferably in St. Paul and places that a good selection of classic games, but any tips would be appreciated. Thanks. :D

Guess I missed this thread back a couple years ago... I'm located in Rochester, and am pretty much a diehard Atari fan. :)

As for game stores in the Twin Cities, there aren't many options I know of. Games To Go used to be a favorite place of mine to visit (I once bought 2600 Submarine Commander there for 50 cents!) but it closed down a few years ago.

Raven Video games might still be in business -- they carry all kinds of unusual stuff. See if they're in the phone book when you get there.

Dude, there's a huge Neo Geo AES collector who lives there by the name of Vince Yang. He posts here under the username vincewy. He has a complete AES collection I think. If not then he's just missing a game or 2.

That's cool, I had no idea the name changed (let alone turned into 3 separate stores!). Do you know if Paul still runs the business? I met him a few years ago at his Raven store.

Yes it is still there, HI- Score has two locations. One in Maplewood, off of Century Ave which was the Raven store. The other and much bigger store is in Stillwater right off of Highway 36 on the southside of the highway, just past Applebee's by about 1/2 mile. :D

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to check these out next time I'm in the Cities!

EDIT: Wrong place to ask this, but why doesn't my sig show up in these posts? It shows up just fine on the preview page, but after I hit "submit" it's gone... any ideas?

Do you have display sig checked? Is it an Image or text?

My sig should be:

Carl Forhan
Songbird Productions
http://songbird-productions.com

and I do have the box checked each time I post that says "Attach signature", and also in my profile that says "Always attach my signature." I'm looking at the preview screen right now, and I see my sig inserted at the bottom like it should be. But once I post, it's gone...

Oh doh, I forgot. You have to buy the rights to show your sig. Its 50 meseta , http://www.digitpress.com/forum/shop_effects.php?action=specialshop

Its also listed in the faq at the top of the forums, next to the watched topics and search functions.

Thanks, that did the trick. Didn't realize there was a "points" system on the board. :)

Any of you guys know the stores with a huge Saturn inventory. Discland and Cedar Cliff Collectibles have a few. Toyriffic has a sizeable one. And I didn't notice the Saturn games in the Hi Score games store on Century Avenue. I haven't been to their Stillwater store yet. So if any of you know where there are a lot of Saturn games LMK. I'd appreciate it.

The stillwater high score has a ton of used saturn games.

There is a new place, Game N go , in brooklyn park. Its right next door to the Cub foods off of Brooklyn Blvd. Check it out, I happen to know the owner from highschool.

Thanks! :D I decided to call up Games N Go and asked some questions. Seems like they have some Intellivision and Colecovision packages. They also carry import Saturn games and the converter that you need to play them with if you have a US Saturn. Might just go to their store and check it out in person when I get some money.
