...til ya bleed, is that dope enough? Indeed.

Whatever...inspired by another thread, lets take it to the extreme. List games that make you sweat whilst playing. Most likely these will be arcade games, but not always, what with the crazy at-home peripherals you can get nowadays.

I used to sweat playing:

Boot Camp: you can never roll the trackball fast enough, you talk about fierce competition with two players...sheesh!

The Main Event: Cheesy wrestling game with one Giant Button that does everything...but the best way to win matches was to get your opponent in a submission move, which required hands of lightning to pull off.

Power Drive: A 3-player monster truck variety game, with (count em) 2 Giant Buttons this time, oh and a gear shifter. Man, we must have looked like damn fools smacking those buttons for all it was worth...not to mention everyone wanted to watch because you made so much noise hitting the buttons. I can't believe those didn't shatter all the time.

Thats all I can think of right now.

I remember being up at 2 AM after having 2 litres of JOLT~! with my cousin and freaking out at every little step and scare in Resident Evil.

However nowadays it takes DDR to get me to sweat.

Mario, or any platformer with tricky jumps really. Makes my palms sweat.

2D fighters sometimes, too.

The first time I fought Metal Gear Rex I was sweating like crazy because I didn't have much life left and he was winning. When I beat 'em, I mopped up the puddle below me.

I was not just sweating, but I was almost crapping myself when I first reached the last boss on Shinobi, and I was on my last life. Honest to God, I had a minor heart attack when I actually beat him. Yep, on my last life. :D

DDR, Drummania, and Crazy Taxi do it to me. Magical Drop has possibly given me vicious underarm perspiration a few times.

DDR is a given due to the physical nature, but other than that...
Ikaruga is probably the only one that is challenging enough to make me work through it every time I play it, that game has more damn replay value than anything else in the market (Ikaruga 2 is in japan, $10 says we'll NEVER see it)

Just about every game makes my palms sweaty. That why I use an AirFlo controller. When were playign 2 player NHL 2003 I sweat like crazy. That and Virtua Tennis gets me pretty sweaty to. Those are the worst.

Any game gets my sweat glands all fired up if I play it for an extended period of time. Any title for the Power Pad is a given. Samurai Shodown 2 also has me sweat from turning red and shouting profanities at the CPU. The last game I played, I was Ukyo fighting Gen-An, and that f**king little goblin was being an utter c**t. Oh, but I toasted his green arse, and I split him in half, with skulls falling out of his body. I love it when you slice your opponent in half, and bonus items spill out.

Any game that frustrates me makes me sweat. So, basically, I sweat over every game there is. ^^;

2 notes:

Virtua Tennis - I love this game, have they made a DECENT and REAL sequel on a NEW console?

Airflo - Anything besides an xbox controller? and how well does it stack up to a first-party controller? I've considered doing the dremel/fan/whatever/mod to some of my controllers but haven't YET....

DDR, Drummania

Ditto. First time I beat Happy Easter Expert Real my right arm was about to fall off. Friggin' Hi-hat.

Also, Mocap Boxing.

Can't remember the last time I broke a sweat playing a regular, couch-potato-variety video game...I don't remember breaking a sweat but it's worth noting that I played Beatmania IIDX one-handed for a few hours once and made my damn wrist swell up.

Metroid Prime made me sweat - I think that giant space pirate part did. Other than that it's hard to make me break a sweat...esp. with most PC games where you can constantly QuickSave / QuickLoad. Even those are pretty intense - really intense...but I don't sweat.

DDR! i've lost 30 pounds playing like a madman. (gained it all back now that i'm back in school). breaking 8 footers and moving on up.

soul caliber with my buds. if i'm not sweating, i'm wiping off drool from smack talking 4 hours straight.

tetris. doubling a high score will have one flying higher than starbucks and viagra.

and tense situations... last life, down to the wire... stuff like that.

DDR
Samba de Amigo (those damn maracas will burn you out!)
Drummania
basically just the "physical" games......the palms sweating is usually a by-product of coffee on an empty stomach :D or real intense SHMUPs

That makes sense. I've never played the game, myself.

Try playing G2 on 7 Key with one hand. The burning fires of hell will manifest themself in your forearm. If you sweat, it will be from the pain induced hallucinations.

Oh, and ANYTHING played in a poorly ventilated arcade will leave me sweaty. Heh.
