The storyline that's been running in PvP for the past week (and on into this week) is kinda scary for those of us who are grown-up game collectors. You can see this terrifying tale here (http://www.pvponline.com/archive.php3?archive=20031113).

A good reason not to get married! Well, unless she really understands - or preferably shares in - my love of games.

The key to a healthy Gamer/Non-Gamer union:
1. Never keep careful track of how many hours of gaming you've played during a particular stretch of time and volunteer this information to your significant other.
2. Never put your entire collection out on shelves at one time. Always have some things in closed non-descript cardboard boxes in a storage room which you change out every now and then.
3. Never, *ever* volunteer an estimate of how much money you've spent on video/computer gaming during your marriage/relationship.
I've broken the 1st and the 3rd rules and it wasn't pretty. Since I'm limited on space, the 2nd rule hasn't been a problem.

#4) Never try to use gaming as an excuse to not do something else, IT WILL NOT FLY!

Heh. My wife is afraid to TOUCH my games...she's afraid she might accidentally break something expensive :D She also knows how many hours I play and all my stuff is pretty much displayed on shelves. Conveniently, I have so much that she never notices when something mysteriously appears in the collection :D I've also used gaming as an excuse to get out of doing work (but so has she with Animal Crossing), but I've never told her exactly HOW much money has been spent over the course of our relationship on gaming....mostly cause I have no clue. It's a shitload tho!
