Interesting article on GameSpot about some opinions of gamers:

There are a lot of questions -- I would have liked to have seen more people surveyed, and know more about them, such as their age and if they play PC games, and what not, but still, the results are interesting.

Very interesting article, thanks for posting the link.
Too bad that the actual study costs over $2000, I'm sure they have the interesting details of the socio-demographic data in there and how they relate to patterns of gaming habits.
Interesting is that a high percentage of gamers are very interested in online gaming, however, most gamers play alone and prefer to play alone. This means that the POTENTIAL for online gaming is there, but nothing more; hardware and software developers are in for a serious campaign with convincing online games if they want to make online gaming popular. Playing alone seems to be a deeply embedded gaming habit which can't be easily overcome.

Yeah... They could have just bought two of us each a new PSX and we would have just spoke our minds.
I thought the bit on the N-Gage was great! Also, I agree that this whole online play with a console is definately going to take a while longer to really kick in. I still haven't experienced it much since I too prefer to play games with my friends, brothers or girlfriend in the room with me, or just by myself.
Great article, thanks!
