Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - HELP!!

I'm in the VERY beginning of the game, on the second or third mission, the Ice Mage(wizard?). Mission objective, defeat all baddies. Law, no items.
I used an item (phoenix down) got a yellow card, finished off all the bad guys, now it just keeps going, I've hit wait on all my chars through 2 full rounds, and there's no end in sight. What am I missing?

Side Question - If I have a player die in battle (without rezzing), are they gone at the end of the battle like in the PS game?

if i remember correctly, is this the board with the two posts near the top of the board that the mage was standing by? if so i think you have to attack the blue balls (no pun intended) on top of the post to finish the board.

and if a player dies at the end of battle i think you still get to keep them. just kill a bunch off before batlle ends to find out then don't save it.

Does anyone know if there's a way to change character names? I'd rather not have a moogle named carlos for the rest of the damn game.

lucavi is right, the mission is destory all targets, not defeat all enemies.

Of course, it didn't SAY anywhere I was supposed to attack inanimate objects x_x

Actually, it does say, Defeat all enemies or Destroy all targets or Defeat boss at the beginning of each mission. Maybe you just didn't notice? I know that I sometimes read too fast and then I'm lost.

Yeah, I noticed it did say that after, but destroy all enemies, destroy all targets, didn't notice the slight difference, I'll make damn sure to notice next time though :)
