This is susposed to be coming out today. Does anyone else plan to pick it up?

Of course, being the die hard Final Fantasy fan that I am, I'll buy anything with Final Fantasy in it's title. :D

At first I was'nt sure about this one -- the graphics and the story line made it sound very much like a rip off of the Tomb Raider games. And yeah, Square probaly took inspiration from that. But reading the reviews and talking to friends who have played the Japanese version tell me this is really a RPG, light hearted at first and then more serious deeper in, with a non-linear game play and a game you NEED a guide book for at some point.

They also warned that it borrows heavily from FFX, so don't play this if you have'nt beaten that one. ;)

We've got more copies coming/preorders then anyone in the area. I'm both excited and dreading going to work at the same time.
At least it's a game I like, and the season of rednecks stampeding for WWE and football games are over.
I'm going to be running the register in a moogle costume, and I'll have a chocobo and Paine on the floor too :) Happy FF Day!

I'm going to pick it up later today. EB that I visited over the weekend had one of the guide books (I'm going for the LE myself, only because I usually grab all FF strats for the artwork) And I had a good 5 minute laugh at one of the job classes. If you see the guide book, you'll know EXACTLY which one I'm talking about.

I really got into the end of FF X, needing a box of tissues then finding this was coming out and I immediately rushed out to pre-order.

Yeah, EB just called and said I could come in at around 4-4:30 to get the game. Course, I work 3-11 today, but maybe I can slip to the mall during my dinner break..... :)

And why am I NOT surprised that women responded here first? LOL

I'm eagerly anticipating it, but unfortunately I gotta save some stuff for people to buy me for Christmas. Thus I must wait. :(

I'm skeptic that I'm going to feel way too much like a 13 year old japanese girl while playing this game.

I've been meaning to play this for a while. I played the first one, and liked it. Not fantastic, but very good. Decided to wait. I'm sure they'll change the end of it for the US release. :(

Well, I just got in from work. I got the game, and when I came into the store to pick it up, and reached for the guide book, the manager was like, "Greg, you don't want THAT one....take THIS one" and showed me this nice looking hard covered book, which was bigger and fatter then the other one. Must be the LE that Achika mentioned. And then he said since I had pre-ordered the game I could get 30 percent off the book, bringing it down to $21. I was sold. :D

Have'nt had a chance to look at anything, though, much less PLAY anything yet. :)

Hey Choco, any chance we can get pics? ;)

I don't understand, is that a good thing or a bad thing? Oh how I wish I could feel like a 13 year old Japanese girl! Again.

I'm not sure about the game itself, but I definitly know that Paine is hot as a black mage.

Having had a chance to play about a hour of FFX-2 last night, it left me wondering -- what the heck were the people at Square smoking when they came up with this? LOL

First you need to read the manual to get some backstory, as the flashy FMV intro only shows the first major event of the game. But you need to read it anyway to figure out the game functions, cause there are some really different things in this game.

You can get 'spheres' which you can then use to change one of the three main charcters (Yuna, Rikku, and new comer Paine) into a different 'class'. Some are expected, like White Mage, Black Mage, Alchamist, Dark Knight, etc, but some of these are wacky, like the Mascot one.

Also, although the game has five chapters, you're pretty free anywhere in the game to pick a location in Spira to go to. Every little bit will raise your 'Percentage Completed' ratio and I guess for the best ending you need it to be about 100 percent.

Graphics and music are good, the game is fast placed and has minimal 'Tomb Raider' aspects, but the camera is not always the best.

I'll have to sink more time into it after my comps are done this weekend, but I DO like it so far. The Limited Edition art book is also a treat, with a artbook for FFX and X-2 on the left and the Prima book on the right.

First time I've ever been working on TWO Final Fantasy games at the same time, though. :P
