I've been messing around with making a conceptual map of the Intellivision games, and I'd love to have some input. Here it is:

Basically, the closer the game is to another one, the more similar it is. But, it is far from perfect. Hopefully, you can see the clusters of games, like Defender clones, etc. And it works on some levels, but can't work on all of them. I am stilll working on it, and I would like to have some input on whether anyone else can make any sense out of it, whether it works at all, specific game issues, etc.

There are some issues. For one, 125 games is probably too much, and with so many action-oriented games, it gets crowded. But, if I go to a higher res, it becomes almost unreadable. I couldn't imagine doing it with the 2600 or something. The colors sort of correspond with their release, Action network, ECS, etc.

Finally, sorry for the large size of the post. You can try opening it in your own window if it helps. I figured it if I just post the link to the image, nobody would read it. Anyway, comments welcome. It's still a sort of prototype... and I am not sure that it will ever work.

Interesting concept, but a bit unwieldy.

I didn't notice Snafu on there either, though I could've missed it.

EDIT: And I guess Conversational French is missing too, if you wanna get picky.

That's pretty damn cool! What an original concept - and something only a TRUE Intellivision-ary could concoct. It looks much better when saved and printed "to fit" on a page, too. Very nice. Keep us posted on the updates.

Thanks for the comments. (Bad pun not necessary) :)

I added Snafu (it was there at one time!) and I'm still mulling this thing over. I'll let it sit for a couple of days and come back to it and see if I like where it's going.

As for conversational French, I am really only sticking to the wide-release titles now. They'd be easy to add anyway. Lots of space in the learning/thinking area!
