I know that some 2600 games work on the 7800, but do all Atari games from 7800 and previous work on the 7800?

Thanks in advance for the info.

the 5200 games won't work, they are a much larger cart. All the 2600 games work on the 7800 with a few possible exceptions. If I recall there are a few that don't work correctly on the 7800, Robot Tank by Activision is one I think. I could be wrong. I'll defer to the experts.

All 7800 games work on the 7800 (obviously). No 5200 games work on the 7800, and just about all 2600 games work on the 7800. There are some exceptions, though... Robot Tank by Activision immediately comes to mind.

The non-working 2600 games vary from console to console, too. I have a 7800 that works fine with Robot Tank / Supercharger module / etc., but have also seen one that didn't.

I can tell you that Polaris wouldn't work on my 7800, but I'm not sure about the other Tigervision games.

Ok reguarding the 5200 there was an adaptor planed so that you could play 5200 games on the 7800. but that was never released.

Early version 7800's (socketed IC's, and large font serial number (7R4BR or something in big letters, not small letters) are compatible with all 2600 games, Robot Tank, SuperCharger games, etc. Later versions with the small font and soldered in IC's have that 2600 compatiblilty broken, but still play 97% of 2600 games.

Thanks fot the info guys,

what about joysticks and controlers? can the 7800 use a 2600 jorstick or paddle? Can a 2600 use a 7800 controler?

7800 accepts 2600 controllers. You just lose access to the 7800's right button.

Why would you want to use the 7800 controllers on the 2600? But they do work.

Pitfall 2 doesn't work on 7800 systems does it? I thought the sound chip screwed it up.

Pitfall II's always worked fine on my 7800 - I've had no problems with it.

Funny enough with me is Kung-Fu Master 7800 I have 2 7800s it works in one but not the other. Bugertime 2600 doesn't work in either.
