MAME variants

Is there a website out there that actually lists all of the current MAME variants and the differences bewteen them? If not, how about we try to get a descrpition of each and a link to their pages and maybe make a sticky out of it? I started to try to find info on some of these on my own, but there seems to be a ton of them out there!

Have you tried Zophar's MAME page?

However, it does not include the intriguing fastMAME (http://www.geoshock.com/).
