Ah, my PS2 EQ addiction is over with.

I actually got a moron to pay 150 and a GBA game (some sonic..don't recall name, more interested in cash) for it.

I had a lvl 49 Elf Ranger, and he is sending cash in the mail tommorow!

Nothing to nullify the pain of addiction like some benjamins!!

Sorry, just had to brag. 8-)

Grats, nothing like the feeling of getting paid for your time spent playing a videogame.

That was the best way for me to kill my EQ addiction as well. I got a cool $1,000 for my account though, way back in the day. I still haven't gone back... yet. Well, I know I'll never go back to EQ but as of today I was actually looking around and I know I'm either getting FFXI or World of Warcraft. Maybe both. The only thing holding me back right now is my computer though... I ran the VanaDiel Bench 2 and it ran like total ass. My system is ancient, I really need to upgrade it.

I might just skip FFXI and wait for WoW when I've got a better system, I know some people that plan on getting into it hardcore and I kinda feel like wasting my life away on a single game again, so that sounds like a plan!

I did the same thing with Ultima Online. Sold my house ALONE for $300.00. 8-)

Well, I am just done with the game, I could have sold the character with no gear alone for around $100, but included all the following for $150:

Icescale Gloves
Icescale Boots
Icescale Tunic
Icescale Helm
Icescale Bracers
Huntlords Bracers <--very rare

Rubicite Boots <---very sexy looking
Yhafrion's Cloak <--Ranger only tunic

And alot more, just not on par with that stuff.

I got a cool $1,000 for my account though

I hope to Christ whoever paid that much doesn't have any kids. Stupid people shouldn't breed.

Hahhaha, does Rubicite still drop in EQ:OA? I might have to start playing it strictly for that reason. Oh man, I remember when ruby was the most hardcore shit around, and the only reason anyone wanted it was because it was red.

The reason my acount was worth so much was because I had a lvl 60 enchanter and a lvl 55 monk, both with epics and both pretty well decked out. Nothing incredibly uber (especially by the time I sold) but both were great characters and always got the job done when being played by the right person.

I miss my account :(

Yeah, Rubi still drop, only drops in the Cazic Thule zone at the lizardmen, and is a VERY hard drop to get.

The typical prices for rubi gear are as follows.

Rubicite Breastplate--1.2+ Million tunar
Rubicite Bracers-------400k Tunar
Rubicite Greaves------900k+
Rubicite Gloves and bootes---400k per

So, as you can see, it's not a "cheap set" though gear that drops from the Avatar of Fear, (a raidable "ubermob" sells for even higher).

Geez, the in-game cash of EQ:OA seems worthless next the the Platinum of EQ. 1.2million? How the shit do you carry all that? I remember buying a Cloak of Flames for 120k and that being all my money saved up over months and months... most people never saw that much cash, and most never will.

Interesting.

Yeah, the Rubi in EQ dropped in Cazic Thule, but I can't remember what dropped it. It doesn't matter anyhow, it hasn't dropped for years now and Cazic Thule is a whole different zone. Apparently Cazic upgraded his minions power so everyone gets their ass kicked when they go in the zone.

Yeah, there is alot more money floating around in Tunaria.

Actually, just last week, my buddy sold his Dragoneye (uber rare sword, drops off Snowgrin, a HUGE snowman) for 9.3 million tunar.

The server that I played on is also one of the more corrupt of the servers, it is where the first dupes on eqoa went down.

It really fucked up our economy, billions of tunar were duped, alon with uber rare items, and the GMs...well, let's just say, they tried to get all the items and tunar back, and didn't succeed.

Wow, thats really suprising actually. I never figured Verant would let anything get out of control that bad. Nobody was ever able to cheat the system in EQ, and if you did you were caught, 99% of the time.

So I need a new addiction, wanna get started on FFXI? LOL

Well, actually, I was thinking of going back to eqoa, but for the sole intent to sell my account afterwards, kinda like a part time job.

I could use your help, we could level fast, I could be healer, you could be tank, then switch, have 2 high lvl characters, then sell them, we could easily net $300+ off each of our accounts.

What do ya say?

I'm working on FFXI and really enjoying it. Of course, this is only the second online game I've played, the first being Earth and Beyond. Never thought of selling my account on that, though. :)

I don't think I could handle EQ:OA. First, I don't have the game or a modem for my PS2, and I don't think I'll be able to handle ANY EQ until EQ2, if even that.

I think I might just stick around and wait until World of Warcraft, when I have a machine that can actually run an MMORPG decently. Ran the FFXI Benchmark and it ran like total ass.

What do you mean "can't handle it"?
