Does anyone know the deal with these white label colecovision games? I remember having a few in my youth (don't have em anymore, sucks). Are they bootlegs or review copies or did Coleco run out of ink>?

I'm pretty sure those are just late release "economy" versions like the grey box Atari 2600 games or the white label Intellivision games. I have a Bump 'n Jump like that and I once had a white label Time Pilot sealed in a blister pack with a B&W manual. I bought it from someone who used to work at a major retailer and bought all their leftover stock. So it is an official release but beyond that I'm only guessing.

I think they are Telegames re-releases. I got a Time Pilot one time (and still have it) and the seller told me it was a "Prototype", boy did I ever get screwed on that deal :embarrassed: !

No, they aren't Telegames.

The "budget" rerelease theory sounds about right, since I got them in 1985 from a pawn shop, no less. Still wish I had them though. Also wish eBay sellers would stop throwing around the word "RARE" for every Colecovision game that has a discolored case or misprinted label. Thanks for the help, guys!

I think I saw those in Toys R Us as late as 1990 (possibly even later).

im pretty sure those were made by telegames when they first acquired the rights to the coleco games..

Those are the ones I asked you about that were supposedly "preview carts" from Coleco, before they went into production.

The mods love it when you dig up an old thread :)

Found a white labelled copy of DKjr like this one:

Anybody have any definitive info on this?

We discussed them a little more in this thread, too.

Yours looks sort of like the one I remember, but I bet the instruction manual is from the original release.
