Does this thing need a special controller? I have the regular black joysticks, but they don't seem to squeeze into the ports very well. Also, when I look at pics, the XE has a white joystick. Do I need one of these, or am I not trying hard enough with the black joystick?

XE uses the same controllers as the 2600. The white stick was released along with the XE game system, but is identical to the older black ones. I wouldn't force the controller in though. First check to make sure the console doesn't have a bent pin. I use stock sticks on my 130XE all the time and they slip in without any trouble.

Thanks for the reply, it seems the fit was just a little tighter than i was expecting :)
