It seems only one guy knows what he is talking about. I don't think the new zelda bonus disc will go for $200-$400 dollars anytime soon. I know people are paying stupid prices for it now but the same happened with the original bonus disc.

Most people on GFaqs don't know what they're talking about...that includes myself in some aspects. But, I try to stay away from those topics.
Gamefaqs.com fucking sucks along with a majority of VG related websties and print magazines. I am disgusted by a majority of critics and a majority of casual gamers (it seems the critics these days are fucking casual gamers). Digital Press is pretty good though, I wouldn't post on here if i thought it sucked. Fuck gamefaqs.com!! fuck them up the ass!

Sorry to break it to you guys, but your gaming collections won't really be worth much.
Think of it this way...
- You pay $50 for a new game
- 1 month later, you get $25 as the trade in value
- 6 months later, you get $15 as the trade in value
- 3 years later, you get $5 as the trade in value
- 5-10 years later, if you're lucky, you can sell it on ebay for $30. If you're very lucky, you might get a little more than you initially paid for it.
But the fact of the matter is very few people are willing to pay for old games, especially with all the ROMS and ISO's readily available for free.
What a moron! This must be one of these "I only play new games cause the graphics are COOLER" gamers...those are the ones that really get under my skin. How can anyone say that games are worthless...not only does collecting games provide a worthwhile hobby (instead of say...baseball cards or something you cant actually use), it brings back old childhood memories and its well...just damn cool.
I guess thats what you get for posting on gameFAQs.

Maybe they should all dig their heads out of their momma's asses and stuff.

I imagine the disc will be worth about $20 4 years from now. The print run was just simply way too large and the game is way too easy to get.

But yeah, I agree....if your out buying GC games and keeping them sealed to make money in the future its pretty stupid. Id understand picking up something like Kakuto Chojin for xbox and keeping it sealed since it was pulled from the shelves...but anything else basicallys pointless.
But thats not what he was saying still, he said "worthless"...not "profitless".

Well, I can honestly say that my parents and I (through my own contributions in allowance and such) spent roughly $!500 on atari stuff during it's hay day, and that stuff would be worth $50 now. Not as bad an investment as Enron, but still rather pathetic. Of course, I kept them because they represent good times of my youth and I love them.

Personally, I see the Bonus Discs as mostly good for playing. Someday they'll certainly be collectable...but I'd rather buy the real thing first.

The NES board on gamefaqs isn't bad, if you are into playing the games like I am. Lots of people talking about the old games, you don't find that much anymore.
However, you get moderated for writing anything even remotely controversial...I used the word "bull$hit" and my post got deleted, complete with a warning. What's that shit all about?

You can make a point by not swearing every other word, take a second to read your posts before you click the submit button. This is aimed at both of you.....my opinion
As for collectibilty, for every 100 games maybe 5 will be worth more than you paid for it 5 years ago.
I bought cubivore for $25 and sold it for $50, Also bought Suikoden II and still have it sealed.
Once everyone subscibes to NP this game will be like the Dragon Warrior promo of years ago, heck I'll resubscribe and I haven't been a NP subscriber since SNES days.

I don't post here as often as I should. I'm usually at gamefaqs to see if there are any new FAQs for NES games, so while I'm there I just check out the boards. That FAQ Contributor board...don't expect a reply unless you're in their little clique.

And I don't agree with attacking the entire GameFAQ site. I consider Clay a friend of mine, he works really hard, and sure, SOME FAQ's may be off but there are thousands of files on there! Not everything we have here at DP is accurate, either! :o

LOL! I never said I was his FRIEND, just that I've talked to him in e-mail a few times when I had a problem with the site about two years ago.
You have to understand the way that I use 'friend' and define it is probaly different from anyone else. You're a friend to me, for example. :P
And I could have sworn he used Clay as his first name.....but I may be confusing that with another site, now that I think about it. :embarrassed:
