I am sick of people getting scammed on the Nintendo Zelda discs. They are cool pieces that pretty much everyone wants, and people are getting them on impulse. Sure the people deserve it but I rember being a newbie to some systems to. SO this is my plan for an auction.
Topic Name- ZELDA BONUS DISC INFO INSIDE
Starting Bid- $1.00
Description- I am not selling the actuall bonus disc, nor the plans for teh Bonus disc. I am simply giving away the link to get a Bonus disc and a 1 year subscription to Nintendo Power. DOnt pay these prices to guys trying to make money just go there. If you bid on my auction you will win A Piece of paper with the link written on it. DONT BID! (Ill put the link in the auction)
Would I get in trouble for this?

better yet put the price at 99999.99 dollars. That way nobody will bid and you'll get more hits.

Don't they have a rule about not providing links to other sites? I think it's a good idea though. Instruct the interested parties to use the ask a seller a question link and just email them a link. I would consider doing this as well.

You don't have to actually provide a link, you can just say that you can subscribe to Nintendo Power and get the CD free by going to Nintendo's website. Most gamers would know what the URL was.
And even if you did post a link directly to the correct site the most that ebay would do I'm sure is delete the auction.
I say go for it.
Post a whole shit load of them in fact.
Just keep in mind that as slimy as you think that selling these CDs is, certain people from this very forum have profited big from selling them.

I don't think he has a problem with people selling the disc...he has a problem with the assholes for try and charge 2-10 bucks for a link to nintendo's website.
I say go for it Marty...you might end up with some angry emails though.

I emailed the seller congratulating hime for doint it and this was his response :
"Thanks, I actually didn't make the auction to make money. For as you
see, the information is just there for the taking. Of course, you can't
post an auction for $0.00 so I made it $1.00 and optional for anyone to
give a dollar if they think the info as worth a dollar. I was just
getting sick of seeing that disc got for sales between $40 - $80, even
$99 once.
I thought of how easy it would be to buy a LOT of Nintendo Power
subscriptions with the disc for $20 and resell just the disc on eBay.
But that would be wrong, plus think of how many issues of NP would be
arriving at your door. I don't like seeing people get scammed.
So far, I've had $5 donated for the information, from 190 viewers. So
185 of the 190 viewers so far thought it was good, free information."
Seems like a cool guy or gal . :D

I guess ebay follows that old proverb, "Let the Buyer Beware"
I'm assuming that sellers of the info complained about the auction.

You had to expect that. Ebay makes money off the other auctions no matter how odious they are.
