I've been doing too much foruming lately. I can tell when it's time to cut down; my last few threads have been particularly poorly received. When all you really have to discuss anymore is what's going on in the forum itself, it's time to shift priorities. So at times like this, I stop logging in and start firing up those old systems. In a few weeks I'll be back, afresh with some new gameplay experiences to discuss.

What's your ratio? How many hours a week playing games, vs. collecting, vs. foruming?

For clarification:

Playing games is just that.

Collecting includes going to stores, ebaying, thrifts, yard sales, organizing, cataloging, etc.

Foruming is hanging out here. Time spent in other areas of the site doesn't count.

Don't forget; the order is playing, to collecting, to foruming.

My ratio is 3 to 3 to 6.

I don't think THIS topic will be poorly received there, Kid Ice.

Tough one for me since I have the forums on my computer all day long whether I'm "active" or not, but if you consider only "active time"...

Gaming - 2; Collecting - 3; Forum'ing - 4

It's an average, of course. There are many days - especially Saturdays! when I'm gaming 8; collecting 4; foruming - 1 :)

1 - 2 - 6.
No time to play the kind of games I like, but time to jump on the forum. Collecting would be higher too, if it weren't for the Pennsylvania Hepatitis Outbreak sapping all my restaurant's business.

Gaming - 4; Collecting - 1; Forum'ing - 15

My gaming habits wildly fluctuate. I can go months without touching a controller but then I'll hit a nostalgia bug for some game and drop 40hr of my week. And I'll admit I'm a bit of a forum junky (better than being an ebay junky... that ends up getting costly).

(and just to be shameless, the game I wrote is sitting at about the 100hr mark. if you think your gaming ratio is looking alittle low, check it out to add 15min to your ratio)

4-2-4.

I spend a lot of time here, but it's not all active time, like DP said.

Gaming depends on what I'm currently into. Recently it's been longer.

I spend more time organizing my stuff than actually buying it/hunting it down. :)

@bensenvill - That is one badass avatar. Hunter Thompson = :rocker:

I think I need a refresher course in ratios, so I'll go the % route:

As for the past month or so, 80% foruming, 10% playing, 10% purchasing. With the Xmas season coming up, there should be a surge in the playing and purchasing ;)

I'd say 5 or 6 for playing (Cardfighters Clash and Animal Crossing mostly), 3 for collecting (only Funco really), and 4 for the forums (sometimes I just can't get on, damn AOL!).

I'd say about 4 - 4 - 4 for me.... including the several forums I visit. It's tough to tell, because I am almost always on the computer, and active time is tough to judge.

Pretty solid at 3 to 1 to 10. I don't get to go out to do the collecting I would like to.
