About tonight's episode of Starcade, the guy was clearly stoned. His eyes were all red and he was flubbing words, it was hilarious.
Sorry if this is old news, I've only been watching them recently!

The worst part is that he had a drug-induced hallucination and saw an episode of Video Power ten years before it actually aired.

Where did you get all of the old episodes of Starcade at anyway?
They're on G4 TV.
Or sometimes in MPEG files on usenet binaries groups like alt.games.binaries.emulators.misc

Yep, I get 'em off G4, my Tivo records them all. Sometimes Edwards is ripped, sometimes not, it's very easy to tell.
There was another one the other day with this 8 year old contestant named Evan, he was obnoxious the whole show, you could tell he was pissing Edwards off. Then at the end he fell 50 points short of winning a Joust game, and turned around with this stunned look on his face. Edwards was positively gleeful, and made it very clear how gleeful he was by basically saying neener neener neener to Evan. I was rolling man, it was so damn funny.
