I found this at a thrift store for 29 cents. What is it?

(represses instinct to scream something rude ;)

I'd say one of those cut-down black and white LCD screened children's machines owing to the precomputer bit.

What's the company name and copyright date? Video Technology?

Page 97 for the list of expansion modules.

...dang, that's a huge list of titles.

With the holiday season coming up and all that, I thought I'd give you something: a boot in the ass.

Seriously Mr. Hamburglar, there is one simple rule you need to start following: if you aren't going to contribute to a thread, DON'T POST. Your reply above is not only useless information but also misleading.

You don't wanna know what my next "gift" is gonna be. Please give some thought to your posts before posting again in future. Thanks.

I have one of these laying around.
*WAIT*
I just remembered I dissasembled it and threw it away. It had a little LCD screen on it.

Here, I found a pic:

Good luck with your quest for knowledge!

Ah, the good old Precomputer 1000. A friend of mine back in elementary school spent a fair amount of time writing games in BASIC on that thing, until we discovered QBasic. Heh. I can't imagine that cartridges would be worth more than a few bucks, unless you run across some super hardcore collector.

Judging from what DJCapcomBoy wrote I'm guessing these came out in the late, late 1980s and survived until sometime around the mid-90s accepting those cartridges (judging from the look of the one whose manual I posted--it references some popular printers and such).

Also of interest: while it seems the Precomputer isn't made anymore, look at this page:

That Deskpro looks awesome, and that's coming from somebody nearly 20 years old.
