Well shit. I went to EB today and didn't find any decent games so I got 2 preowned dvds instead (Fist of the North Star and Berserk: War Cry). I was just looking at my receipt to see what kind of discount I got with the GMR card and I saw that they rang up my Berserk as Devil May Cry 2 (which was $19.99, not the $14.99 my Berserk was). So my "discount" was actually 3+ fucking dollars more than the regular price. Sons of bitches. I'll be back in a couple of days to demand my money! It's too bad my local Gamestop is a little too proud of their preowned game prices and don't carry many used dvds anymore, or I'd shop there exclusively. Damnit.

You're complaining about them charging you more...yet you didn't even think to notice the fact that you were paying more than the price listed on your item?

They do still teach arithmetic in public schools, don't they?

No, no they don't. I was on the phone with my aunt earlier...her daughter got a bad grade on a math test because she was too slow...she didn't use a calculator...5th grade. The test was basic multiplication and division.

This is what the EB that I went to before does (it may be the same for you):

If they don't have the item listed in their computer, but think someone might want it, they buy it back under a different sku. (I was getting the Bleemcast Tekken 3 and they had the Illbleed sticker on it) I asked, said "I think this is in the wrong case, what's the correct price?" so they told me the story.

I was in a hurry and I had already had several different items in my hand (I do that when I'm trying to decide what I want and eliminate as I go on...)...smartasses! Also, Achika, that wasn't the case at all this time, the case had the Berserk sticker on front, but the DMC2 sticker on the back (I'm guessing this was a slipup, hopefully). Either way I'm going back Saturday to get my change.

And I didn't go to the one in Haywood (although I stopped by there earlier today). I went to the one that was pretty close though, the one Laurens Rd, right off of Haywood. I know it's partly my fault for not realizing, but it just pisses me off.

I'd be on your side, DrJustin, if I hadn't received so many good deals at EB in the same way you've gotten screwed. That is, I got Bomberman Generation for GC for $11.99 before the 10% off because it had a Wave Race: Blue Storm sticker on it...

I think because the associates hardly ever change the stickers during markdowns (I got PS1 Midway's GH: Vol. 2 for $5.99 before the 10% off that way this past weekend) or, even better, put the wrong prices on the cases (i.e. the time I got Xbox Shenmue 2 for $10 new 2 weeks after it came out), EB is still a great place to shop. Just look at the price tags very carefully.

Of course, EB Games isn't without its faults. Just make sure to ask whether a game has a manual before it gets rang up. I wanted to strangle an employee over that crap once...

i went to a new EB in the past couple weeks, took 12 psx titles totaling $31 dollars up to the counter.... the bozo rung them in at like $63.
"HUH?"

went to another EB not too long ago and the idiot behind the counter didnt put a cart inside the empty N64 game box i brought up... thank god i noticed before i left the mall area. - and then the bozo argued with me that the cart must have been stolen out of the box while it was on the shelf. he refused to listen to me telling him "look behind the counter" until he finally asked someone else that worked there and found it..

watch those people- their computers are completely off in some stores.... and the employee's are completely out of it in all the stores ive gone to.
always check your EB receipt!

Yeah those guys and gals at EB can be idiots at times. A lot of them are not educated in terms of video games. The EB I go to have a bunch of knuckleheads working there. One manager there didnt even know what a Sega CD or a Sega Saturn was. Also I hate when they give false information to other customers and they swear that they are right.
