The music pulsates, the laser lights dance, the fog machine turns the scene dreamy and a rotating disco ball radiates glittering images through the late-night crowd.
Most step toward the foul line bodies twitching to the sound of the funky beat blaring from the sound system. It is Cosmic Bowling.

I've always liked the Atari 2600 Bowling, but the color scheme was horrible.
After changing the background to black, I thought of Midnight Bowling so I tried
to use garish colors to simulate a black light.

Hmmm, I'd pay for that in cart form. Now whatever you're thinking for a price, do me a favor and double it!

Great job, I'm sure this would sell decently if you had AtariAge make carts of this hack. A lot of people including me like 2600 Bowling :)

Or PackratVG! I've found their prices to be slightly better, and their family-operated business slightly friendlier. But that's just me.

Nice job on the game as always, Scott! I'll add this to the 2600 Emulation Hacks page tomorrow :)

I won't be getting carts made of this hack anytime soon, but I have sent the BIN to Joe so if he puts it up you can play it for free on an emulator. I can have a small run of 10 carts made and sold for $11-12 per cartridge.
Because of other projects, I could'nt do it untill after Christmas. So if you want a copy e-mail me and I'll reserve one of the 10 for you and then I'll send details after Christmas.
Atari Bowling is a game that everybody plays. It's like Centipede, people that normally don't play videogames can play and enjoy Bowling.
As a favor to AdamG, your copy will cost $24. LOL

Thanks Joe. Looks like we were posting at the same time, I did'nt see your post untill after I sent mine.
Packrat Videogames is GREAT!! I have worked with them on several of my hacks and they do a good job at a good price.
As for Atariage, I e-mailed them several times on my earlier hacks and never recieved an answer. Good site but horrible service. At least they could have sent one e-mail.

In answer to an e-mail.
Yes, I know the guys head is green. I started out making a Space Fury bowling game but there are not enough pixels to make it look good. Besides, it's Cosmic Bowling, maybe he's a Venusian. :hmm:
I wanted the lanes, ball, and pins to have a flashing color but could'nt figure out how to do it.

Nice hack! Yeah, the colors in some of those early games are just...heinous.
In case someone does'nt know what the original looked like:
