Well, I went to Nintendo.com, and registered for MyNintendo to get the new Zelda game pack. Once I got there, I then noticed I needed 2 of the 4 games that had a special pin in them, but I registered my GameCube anyway, since I was hoping to eventually buy some of them. Later when I checked my e-mail, Nintendo wrote to me, and in it they said they were sending me the Zelda game. I was wondering why, since I had only registered my GameCube, but I didn't care since I was getting the game. Now, I just checked my e-mail, and Nintendo wrote to me, saying they made a mistake, as they thought I also registered two games, although I didn't. Although, they saw the mistake they made, they are still sending me the game. Yay! Has anyone else had this happen to them??

A small number of people had this lucky mistake happen to them.

The bug was fixed, however, so don't all rush to register your gamecubes :P

You should be a nice boy and send that disc right back.

Or not. :P

Yeah same happened to me, still getting the disc. I've registered two games from the list since anyhow (MKDD and M&L:SS) so I would have gotten it anyways...

What the hell.....I subscriped to NP the day after the deal started, and I STILL haven't gotten conformation that they're sending me the disc. Anyone know if I should try emailing them or just wait? What would you reccomend, Fluke?

Log in to "My Nintendo" and check your subscription status. It should say that it has been mailed out.

Ok I am on their website and I see this offer. I have had my GameCube for about 2 years, my GBA for the same time and a GBA SP for about 6 months. I just bought MK:DD and I own a dozen more games. Can I get this promotion?

You have to register the GameCube, MK-DD and one of the other games on the list to get the Zelda Promo.
Look under the Zelda Collectors Edition Promo and it will say which games qualify.

You can also subscribe to one year of Nintendo Power and get the disc that way. So you can basically get two free discs if you want.

The shipping lists at 2 weeks via first class mail. Most people's discs should arrive by the 2nd of December if they ordered on the 18th.

Ack I don't plan on buying those other two games. I have all these games on the Xbox so I might not worry about it.

Someone might sell you a pin # for one of the other games for cheap. Post on the buy-sell forum and you might get lucky.

It would have been cool but I don't want to go to the trouble of buying pins. I already have Zelda:OOT and the remix on the GameCube thanks to my Zelda preorder so it is no big deal.

Thank you RetroPro. Problem solved. Apparently my disc shipped on Nov. 20, I just didn't get an e-mail. Also, apparently a "Zelda Tips and Tricks" booklet shipped to me back in 1992! LOL This is awesome, it has all my data from back when I used to be an avid subcriber. It's been, like, seven or eight years since I've read NP. I wonder if it's imporved. I'm not betting on it.

Just in case you didn't know, this has Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and the two NES games.

Yeah I know, the only one I don't actually have is Majora's Mask but I would rather pick it up off of ebay for $5 then buy another game just to get it. Thanks though.

This may seem like a stupid question but can you order a subscription to nintendo paying with money order and still get the zelda disk as the free gift , in other words the method to use for canadians. I don't live in canada but I don't have a credit card account so I can't order online and the webpage says nothing about that if you live in the US.

Would I just do the same thing as the canadian method except make the money order out for 19.95 (or whatever the price is exactly) or what?
I'm confused. This is really the only method that could work for me since right now I don't have enough money to buy two GCN disks to register online for the disk and I really want it.

A quick response would be nice if anyone knows because the website says supplies of the disk for subscription orders is limited.

I spent an hour trying to BUY a subscription to Nintendo power from Nintendo's Website this morning. I registered an account, couldn't login or have them send me my password for some reason. Then I registerd another account which finally worked, but when I tried putting an order through for NP I was getting all sorts of lovely scripting errors.

Damnit, why can't Nintendo get their website straightened out? There's a few other people on some other forums having major problems registering like me. Grrrrrr.

Sorry. I don't know who's bright idea it was to completely update the site at the same time the largest traffic we've seen is slamming it, but amazingly enough, the errors are caused by the insane amount of traffic, not the site itself....

@StarKnight - sign up for MyNintendo, go to the online store, click the buy tab for the sub, go to checkout, somewhere along the line it will give you the option to print out a form and mail it in.

Thanks a lot.
I had actually already signed up for the MyNintendo thing about a week or two ago (mostly for the zelda thing but not entirely) and I agree that the thing with them changing the website so much is annoying.
As for the payment thing , thanks for helping me out. I wish more online stores told whether you can pay by check or money order up front instead of waiting till checkout to let you know.
Thanks a lot man.

Funny you should mention that...

On Nov 17 I called in and subscribed to Nintendo Power to get a Zelda Disc, I payed via credit card and all was well
The n on nov 20 I got a similiar e-mail from nintendo stating they were sending me the Zelda disc because I regiustered two games, but I thought, wait... I didn't do that, I subscribed... I thought nothing of it, assumed it was a general e-mail that was sent to all recipients, probably recorded before the subscription idea was thought of...
BUT then the next day I got an e-mail stating similiary that they had made a mistake and I didn't register said games, but they were gonna mail me the zelda disc anyway....

I wonder, will I get two discs?

Yes. Everyone can get two discs by subscribing, and then registering two games. Those who accidentally received one (like you, mayhem, and lone_monster) will still get it. I think that this supplants the 'register two games and gamecube for free disc' offer, so if you got one by accident, then you can't register and get another one. But, if you got one from registering (either by accident or by design), you can still get another one by subscribing.

And a third from buying a GC :P

*sigh* and the idiots are already out, and paying nearly $50 for the discs you can own for a mere $17.

Actually, this auction is for the PAL version of the disk, but I wonder how many bidders are aware of this fact, even though the price listed is in pounds instead of dollars?

As for the comments about the "Canadian way" to subscribe, what are you talking about? Canadians can pay by credit card or money order, just like anyone in the US (I'm not sure about cheques, tho). The only real difference is that online ordering is US-only. When I subscribed to NP 2 weeks ago, I did it by phone, using my credit card. And unlike other gaming magazines I've subscribed to (Game Informer and GMR), I won't receive my NP issues late, since Canadian subscriptions are sent by Nintendo of Canada.

Only problem: I now know that I have 2 MyNintendo subscriptions and that my subscriber info is in the less obvious (for me) of the accounts (yesterday, it took me about 10 minutes to log in cuz I couldn't remember my username).

If you're getting duplicate subscriptions and don't want them, call Nintendo's consumer service, they'll consolidte the two accounts, compensate you for the duplicate issues, and move everyithing into one mynintnedo user account.

To Lady Jaye,

All I ment by the comment on the "canadian way" thing was the fact that it didn't say anything easily noticible on the nintendo shop site about being able to order a NP subscription with the Zelda Bonus Disk gift using money orders (I didn't know why I wouldn't be able to but I wasn't sure and it was important that I can because I don't have a credit card). In the Q&A section it mentions that since canadian residents can't order online so they can send in a manual order form with money order or whatever payment , that's way I mentioned the "canadian way" because that was basically the way I needed to order. If I knew that you could order the subscription online and send in a manual mail form with money order payment I wouldn't have mentioned this question in the first place. That's way I said I wish websites mentioned this kind of thing somewhere easily found on the website instead of trying to order it online and finding out at the checkout that they don't accept anykind of mail in payment.

If anybody took offense to my original comment about the "canadian way" I apoligize. I didn't mean it to sound rude , that was just the only way I could think of to ask the question.

Okay, for those of us who registered 2 games (like me), what do we have to do to get the Zelda disc? Is registering alone enough, or do I have to tell Nintendo that I want the disc? When should a confirmation e-mail be sent? Thanks in advance, guys. The Digital Press forums are where I always go to get answers.
