Hi, I was wondering if anyone has gotten Pacman VS for the Gamecube yet?
Gooddealgames.com has a contest for it on their message boards and I know you can also get it by preordering I Ninja.

Available 12-02 for $19.99 at EB

Note: Pac-Man vs. can only be played with a Game Boy Advance and connectivity cable connected to your Nintendo GameCube

I'm going to get it.

I picked one up this past week so we could play it at our Sat night get-together. It was quite a fun game. Unfortunatly it comes in a sleve if you preorder I-Ninja so now I need to make my own box art or wait for someone to do it for me.

Probably get it with RRE if reviews are good (or more precisely get my kitty aka QoF to buy it for me :D )...

It (Pac-man Versus) got a good review in EGM, I think it got a silver. I have owned Pac-man World 2 since its launch, but will buy that bundle because the other games you get it with don't look appealing to me at all.

It's rad. I haven't played it in depth yet, but the display we have set up is really popular, and it looks great.

Yeah, it looks like a great game..I wonder why its not for sale in stores? Pac-man is timeless.

I posted about this last week, but in any case:

Gamestops should have a ton of them in stock, go ask for one or pre-order something to get it.

The game stop near me is giving them away free with the purchase of the GBA to GC link cable.

It's a tree-mendous amount of fun. The only downsides to it are the fact that you can only play to a certain point total, and Mario's annoying voice.

I can't wait to get 3 other people together to play. That will be madness, I tell you.

Pacman VS is probably the game that i want the MOST right now (aside from Time Crisis 3) from the games that are currently available.

Pacman really is the best and the whole VS thing is just such an awesome idea.

So which one should I get it with Pacman World 2? Or R:RE? I wasnt gonna do it with PAcmanworld 2, but the box art looks damn cool! I have Pacman world 1, its decent, so I might as well continue the series.

oooh, hard to contain myself!

I've never pre-ordered anything before but I'm willing to preorder I-Ninja to get a copy of Pac-Man VS (I already own PacMan World 2). My question is, how much do you usually have to put down for a deposit; and are you required to buy the game when it comes out?

$5 and no. You can usually get your form of payment back or get the store credit & spend it on something else.

I just picked up my free copy of Pac-Man Vs from my work (GameStop), I LOVE Pac-Man Vs. I can't wait for the Pac-Man World 2 bundle do out in a couple of days, I am defenitly getting this one also and for only $19.99 you would be dumb not to. Everything about Pac-Man Vs is awesome and is designed by Video Game LEGEND Shigeru Miyamoto-san exclusively for the GameCube and Namco. Also Leonard, you can trade your games that you don't play anymore at GameStop and put them towards a reservation. Pac-Man Vs. ROCKS! :D :rocker: :D :rocker:

i fucking want that game so dam bad. Now, do I buy it today? Or do I wait for my birthday and risk someone else not understanding that they need to get the version that has VS packed in with it (ie parents, girlfriend, groupies etc)

Spoken like a true GameStop drone. :) LOL

@Jive, I'd go ahead and get it to avoid any confusion.

Is there a clear list of "how to get this game"?

(PS Dustin: THANKS!)

I know pre-ordering I-Ninja or Pac-Man World 2 gets it. Anything else? Is the game expected to be packed-in with any other game or system in the near future? Is the game going to be contained inside of a compilation that anyone knows of?

I 'preordered' I-Ninja today at Gamestop. I left a $5 deposit and took home PacMan VS. I figure $5 was a good price for the game and I have no intention of going back and getting I Ninja.

Heh. Sticking it to the man...

I-Ninja is cool enough (to me) that I might end up doing the pre-order deal for the right reasons though.

PS: I received Phoenix from you a while back...great book. I refer to it all the time, just like the back cover said I would. :) You are to be commended!

I-Ninja's cool as hell, but it's unlikely that I'll pay full price for it. I figure I'll probably pick up Pac-Man World 2.

If I recall you get it with the new Ridge Racer game, too. I wanted to go up to gamestop and see if I could score a free one like achika suggested, but other projects decided to tax me all day instead.

For the record, I just went up to the guy at gamestop and told him I wanted a copy of pac-man vs. After some confusion where I explained I didn't want the pac-man world 2 bundle, just the free promo game in the paper sleeve, I got it.

It's AWESOME. My friends and I plunked it in and promptly played it for about 2 hours. You can do some pretty mean strats as the ghosts in that game, and it makes for a cool perspective on the whole pac-man game.

I went to Gamestop today, I seem to be getting in good with all the people there now (my evil plan is working) and I seen the disks there behind the counter within arm length. I picked one up and I said "what do I need to do to get this?", already knowing, hoping I'd get one free, he said "just take it, they didn't really give us any real instructions on what to do. Here want some of this other promo stuff too?" so I say sure! Then he starts piling it in a bag and I walk out with...

Pac-Man Vs.
I-Ninja T-Shirt
Tony Hawk Underground T-Shirt
Spawn T-Shirt
Ninja Gaiden T-Shirt
Monster Rancher 4 Playing Cards
Mega Man TM Anime preview DVD disk
Yu Yu Hakusho Greatest Moments DVD disk
Dragonball Z Greatest Battles DVD disk

Yep....that made my day!

not really luck, gotta make yourself stand out and be friendly so the people that work there will be like...oh, thats so-and-so, he's cool. Heres some tips.

1. Go often, 2-3 times a week is good.

2. Go hours when there not that busy, mornings are good cause then you'll usually be the only one in the store....they have to recognize YOU and only YOU.

3. Never stay in there more than 20 mins at a time because then you become a "lurker" and you just piss them off.

4. Ask questions, decent questions, let them know you collect games and game memorbelia. They will remember that when they get ready to throw out that NICE Nintendo display thats been in the store for 2 months.

5. Be patient, took me 6 months to get in good with everyone at EB, don't bother with seasonal or part-time workers, they won't help much. Work with the manager first cause they can get you the best stuff. Remember, not only will you get game hook-ups, you'll make a new friend too!

Yep, this is how it works to get all the good stuff! Oh, forgot to mention I also got a free Spawn Lithograph thats kinda cool too!
