I was at work yesterday when a coworker (CitizenWhite of these forums, to be exact) told me that BoF5 was ringing up at $9.99 so I snatched it up for that price. Hell I don't even have a ps2, but I couldn't resist :D. If you're interested check your Circuit City storesand see if they're the same. Just letting you guys know.

thanks for the heads up. I never bought BoF5 before because I read that the game resets back to the beginning of the game sometimes. How this works, I have no clue, but I did not like the idea. If anyone could explain this system to me I would greatly appreciate it.

Yea, the game doesnt just randomly reset back to the beginning, it is actually a very cool concept, and I also had my doubts about it.
You can choose to replay the current area from the last time you saved at a save point (which require save coins) or from the beginning. There is also the Dragon Meter, which, if it gets to 100 %, you die. It isn't really a big issue though. The game is beatable in under 10 hours, but if you do that (thats with no replays) you miss a lot of cutscenes that are unlocked.
Also, before you fret about having to have items to save, you can save anywhere, whenever you want. the save file just deletes when you load it.

10 hours huh? believe it or not the shorter the game is, the better for me. If a game is 40-60 hours long, I will have a hard time sticking with the whole game unless it is simply awsome. I can manage a 10 hour game, sounds good.

I forgot to mention:
This game is easily worth 30 dollars. The combat system is the best I have played in an RPG, save Xenogears, the story, although short, doesnt feel rushed.

CONFIRMED
It may be marked $49.96 on the box, but it DEFINITELY rings up as $9.96. I picked up two today. I suggest all DPers who don't own the game do the same. Capcom + RPG + Unappreciated = possible future rarity? Anyway, I'll probably be unloading my spare on eBay if my best friend doesn't want it. Being that he's manager of the local gamecrazy, I'd like to keep on his good side. :D

Awesome, I guess it is EVERY store then. I'll try to check random odd games ever so often to check for price drops. I check RAD (Robot Alchemic Drive) and Rez for ps2 on a weekly basis to make sure they haven't dropped to a friendly price point (both are still $49.99 :/). Anyway, if I hear of anything else that cheap/good I'll try to remember to let you guys know about it...now to get a ps2 to try it out!

Please do! :D Oh, and if Rez ever DOES make the fateful price drop, be sure to let us know. I want to play that game badly.
