I just bought an Atari 2600 version of Tunnel Runner with Instructions on the infamous EB for $4.75..

Now my question is:: Do you think that it was a good deal??

The best part of the deal for me I believe is that I only live about 20-30 minutes from the guy I purchased it from and I am going to pick it up without having to pay the $4.00 in shipping..

I am open too hear how everyone thinks I did on this purchase..

The guy is very easy to work with and I have also purchased the Game Bridge which is the card game for the 2600 as well for $1.00 off of him as well..

Well I said a mouthful there. I will now keep my pie-hole shut too see what you guys think..

Thanks a lot..

Great deal! It's an excellent game, too.

DP Guide sez:

U.S. Game Releases
Tunnel Runner (Atari 2600, by CBS Games) $15/R4 +
Designed by Richard Balaska. LANDMARK: One of CBS' "RAM plus" games which contained extra memory (12K) on the cartridge itself. EASTER EGGS: Instant transport - anytime during a run, if you are in need of a quick escape, HOLD the button down and rotate the joystick in a circle (either left or right) and it will perform an emergency transport. This can be done once per run. Additionally, the game will go completely crazy after you complete 127 levels. PERIODICALS: Named by Electronic Fun Magazine as one of the "50 Best Games" in March 1984. Electronic Fun With Computers & Games magazine rated this game a 4 (out of 4). Listed as one of the "99 Favorite Classics" by Digital Press in 1997. SANTULLI SLANT: You'll soon find out why those ghosts have such hatred for Pac-Man the moment you pop in this game and see what it's like to be chased around by sinister Pac-creatures. This game also has some truly trippy color effects, so you can imagine what it's like to be an LSD-dropping ghost in a Pac-Man maze at the same time. Sweet. [Gr: 8, So: 7, Ga: 7, Ov: 7] c1983 CBS Toys. #80070.

$4.75 is a good price for anything on the planet you want, whether it's an Atari game, a pizza, or a pair of shoes.

How about a pencil, a candy cane or a can of soda?

so wait, what am I missing here, EB has atari games? I havent been into one (other than the mall ones) in some time. So if I go into an EB, what are the chances of me finding atari/sms/orig GB stuff?

I would say thats a great deal, I'm suprised it had the manual

He used "the EB" as an abbreviation for ebay, not EB Games. But oddly enough, some EB Games stores do have an occasional Atari 2600 cart. And for some reason, it's usually Star Voyager. :)

Sure. What's five bucks? There have been many times I would have paid five bucks for a can of soda. Hell, at the state fair they're three for a glass of pop, not much difference.

If there's something I really wanted, I'd drop $5 on it. Even a speck of sand. Why I would want a speck of sand, I have no idea, but if I did, and it was for sale, and I wanted it, I would pay $5 for it.

:embarrassed: :embarrassed: No wonder i was confused, I stopped in one in chicago today and they had about 50 N64 games.

$4.75 is a really good price. That is kind of rare. The only thing you should look at if you are a collector would be if it was at such a cheap price what is the condition of the game?
