Earthbound is the first in the series; our Earthbound for SNES in North America is actually the second one that was released in Japan. The original Earthbound was fully translated by Nintendo, but never released here in the US. The translation has been dumped however.

A couple clues that something is definitely wrong with this one:

1) The seller calls it "Earthbound Zero", even though the title only says "Earthbound". "Earthbound Zero" is how most gamers refer to it, not someone who doesn't seem to know anything about it.
2) The only picture of the NES & TV is too dark to actually see what's in the system. It could be running off a PC attached to the TV...
3) ...which is supported by the fact that "The Sims" is sitting right next to the TV. Whoops. Odd place for a PC game...
4) Past auctions hint that this seller is knowledgeable about video games, so it's pretty weird that they would "guess" that it's Rare.

So I'm guessing that this is either:

1) a prototype (doesn't look like it, and probably wouldn't turn up at a yard sale)
2) an old NES cart that someone burned with the ROM
3) a complete scam, and the NES cartridge shown is a normal game with the label carefully removed.
