I've been kinda lax on buying next-gen games of late, but I've had "party games" (4-player or more) on my hit list for awhile. Today I stopped in a local Blockbuster and picked up Hunter: Reckoning 2 (Gauntlet-style), Godzilla Melee and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles each for 24.99 or less, so one of them's free (I think it turns out to be Godzilla at 19.99). I may very well go back tomorrow as I saw Silent Hill 3 and Castle Wolfenstein, I'm sure I can find another around 30.
I'm sure some of you have taken advantage of this. It's very cool. I like these "get one free" type deals!

I stopped in there today as someone on an e-mail list I'm on mentioned it to me. I wound up buying two PS2 games and my freebie was a GameCube game. Interestingly, the freebie was the only one that included a manual. That was The Hulk. The two I actually paid for were Ape Escape 2 and Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. I may also go back tomorrow as they did have some other games I wouldn't mind getting...

I got Star Wars Bounty Hunter (GC) Harry Potter & the C of S (GC) and SoulCalibur 2 (Xbox). My freebee was Bounty Hunter. Good stuff!!

My copy of Ape Escape was $24.99. The other two I got were less expensive. I saw Soul Calibur II there but already had the GC version so I didn't bother looking to see what the PS2 copy cost...

The one by my house still has SC2 at $30, but there were a lot of games (with box and manual) that were in the $10-20 range.

The thing that bugged me is I went back and looked around some more and saw a copy of Ape Escape 2 that was cheaper than the one I picked up yesterday, d'oh! On the plus side, I asked and was able to get the manual to one of the games I bought yesterday that didn't have one, the Indiana Jones game. Then I picked up 3 more games and each one (woo-hoo!) came with the proper manual. The games in descending order of price...
F-Zero GX for GameCube ($26.99). I'd heard this was good but hadn't decided whether or not to buy it. Now I have it.
Clock Tower 3 for PS2 ($19.99)
Downhill Domination for PS2 ($14.99). This, of course, was my freebie...I'm surprised it was priced this low. It's fairly new isn't it? I know it was just featured on one of OPM's demo discs...

GameStop was doing a 2+1 deal on used games last weekend; not sure if they still are. I grabbed Mario All-Stars/SMBW, original Street Fighter II, and Final Fight for around $25. (Yeah, I got raped a little on SMB, but I needed to have that game.)
Guess I'll be heading to Blockbuster soon... :)

SoulCalibur 2 (Xbox) at my Blockbuster was $29.99--but the Harry Potter and Star Wars Bounty Hunter were both $14.99--so I feel I got a decent deal. I basically paid around $50.00 (after taxes) for 3 good newer games!

Correction: I mentioned I paid $24.99 for Ape Escape. That was wrong. There's a sticker on the cover that says that but looking on the actual receipt, I see I was charged only $16.99 for that game. That was the good news. The bad news? I didn't get a free game...I was charged for all 3: Ape Escape 2, Hulk and Indiana Jones. I'll have to drop in there tomorrow and see if they'll correct the problem.
