After using my Nokia N-Gage for 1 month, I actually like it very much.

Being a 'weird item new freak', like I got a Tiger game.com for full price when it was first released, I thought that a Nokia N-Gage would be right up my street.

My N-Gage came with a 32MB memory card, which includes a naff game called 'Flo Boarding'. The girl in the game, Flo, even blows you a kiss. Sweet. Nevermind, the game play is not bad for a few hours of snow boarding down the piste. Well, it was free!

My first MMC was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, the Activision effort for Nokia is excellent, but then I love the game anyway. The D-pad works very good, and the raised buttons (5 and 7) help the game play for easy pressing the right buttons. £25.00 per game is ok, if the game is right. So far, Nokia released some top titles (Monkey Ball, SonicN), but I got to get some more titles myself to judge this.

Downloading games is easy and quick, I managed to download Rayman 3 for £5.99 and some other Nokia-only titles like the new and good Snake EX 2. Surfing and emailing is also very easy to set up and to use.

Radio on the N-Gage is of good quality and quite loud when using headphones, and as for tranferring MP3 titles, this also works a treat.
As soon as I get my 128MB memory card, I will find out how many music tracks I can transfer to the unit.
Copying music from a CD player is straight forward, and the link cable for this is also supplied.

Quite excellent is the N-Gage-PC USB link cable, which uses the N-Gage just like a drive on the PC, eg, if C: is your HDD and D: your CD-Rom, E: is the N-Gage for drag and drop file transfer. Quick, easy and it works for back-up, games and MP3s file transfer and any other file you might want to take with you (DOC files or whatever).

Using the N-Gage as a cell-phone is weird, but you get used to it after a short while. I thought that people might look at me funny when using the unit sideways, but the feedback I got so far is 'wow, cool, N-Gage, thumbs up'. So no worries there.

That was 1 month using the N-Gage, and so far it's been a positive month. Gaming on N-Gage is great, not on par with GBA SP, but better than GBA, and the radio and MP3 player are a great bonus (oh, and the phone, of course!!!).

I've been lookinginto getting one because it comes with 3 games for $200... but, sadly, I think I'll end up missing that deal because of the expensive holiday season :(

You can be two things:
1. A sycopant
2. The only person enjoying their NGage.

Make that two people enjoying their NGage. Well....the two hours that I had with it. I won't see it again until December 25th. :(

I'm played with the EB managers NGage the other day.
He had a NES emulator on it and I must say I was VERY impressed.
Perfect emulation and sound.
Awesome screen and it was comfortable to hold and use.
I just may pick one up . :D

If I had 200 dollars to spend and Sam Sho V didn't exist I'd probably pick one up. I certainly don't think its a crummy machine, I just know its a commercial flop.

How did the mostly vertical screen handle that? Was it played sideways or scaled to fit like SonicN is?

It was scaled to fit. It had the black bars on top and bottom. I'd say the screen size was about that of the GameBoy color.
But it didn't have screen blur and the lighting and contrast was great.
They're working on a GBA emulator for it. If that happens then I'll buy one for sure.

I need one of those NES emus for mine, and I'll enjoy the Ngage even more than I am already. I use it more as a phone, but the ability to "whip it out" and play some quick Tony Hawk is wonderful.

Make that 3 people who enjoy their Ngage.

And all the screaming about the awful way of exchanging the MMCs....open N-Gage, remove battery, pull out MMC, insert new MMC, insert battery, close lid....
it's all done in five seconds flat and no hassle whatsoever.
Just can't decide which game to get next.
