Dirty carts? Dirty cart slot? Do you have lines on a black screen or nothing at all? Is the RF cable in good condition? Is the power switch wobbly? What kind of Atari is it? 6/4/jr?
My psychic powers have abandoned me...

Is your AC adapter known good? How about jiggling the AC adapter plug in the Atari?

It could be your voltage regulator inside. There is an easy way to test it, if you don't know what it is, read This Thread (http://atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=36529&highlight=problem) It shows a person who had a bad voltage regulator and the problem was solved for probly about .70 cents. (you will want to test that part with a Multimeter first before you switch it)
