Contra and Super C Speed Runs [Archive]

Well I found a site that has the Contra speed run done in 13 mins and Super C in 16 mins.

The only problem is you need to have a Fileplanet ID to get the videos. I'd host em, but I don't have that much space. The videos are high quality though!

Yeah, it got better recently, and actually, that reminds me...

Anyhow, I could totally see Super C done in 16 minutes. Sort of surprised the original Contra is faster, but I guess I shouldn't be.

I really want to watch these, but I have to download some odd codec to do so. It looks like I have to download and compile it before I can watch these things.

WTF? Can anyone help me out with this? I really want to watch these.

Cannot play back the video stream: no suitable decompressor could be found.

That's what I get. I get audio though....doesn't help much. :(

EDIT: Ye gods, now THAT's a speed run. No explotation of glitches or bugs, just pure skill. Granted, Contra's not all that hard, but it's very impressive to blow throught he game without being touched.

And the way the simply RAPED the bosses of levels 3 & 7! @_@ X_x :eek 2:

I saw the contra one 2 weeks before.
It's impressing how "he" sends the bosses to hell.

oh and btw: Anyone got the link to the "incredible tetris gameplay movie" ??

Someone should make a DVD of all the cool speed runs, stunt runs, and crazy glitch movies in video games. Hell, I'd buy one. Or at least rent it.

I always found Super C harder to play than Contra, I don't know why.

I forgot to mention the videos required a codec to be viewed. Here's a heads-up for anyone who is worried about needing codecs: go to this website http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/
The makers of Kazaalite made a collection of pretty much every codec known to man and created an easy installer. You should never have to worry about codecs again.. or at least until the new versions come out.

Good news is you don't have to worry about the RIAA for this program! LOL

I second that, that codec pack is priceless. Theres a few it doesnt have but you'll probably never need them. I'll post them if I can find the file in my "mess"
