I use Kega Lazarus which seems to play all Genesis/SMS/CD roms. 8-)

Find it and some others here

I was always partial to ol' Genecyst (http://bloodlust.zophar.net/gen/genecyst.html) (Bloodlust software), but I'll have to check out Gens since its been mentioned here a few times

Anyone know any good Genesis emulators for us Linux folk? I've tried Generator and DGen, but I was rather disappointed with both of them.

Gens works best for me too. I love the fact that it can manage 32X ROMS and Sega CD's - either via the CD itself or by playing a CD image on the hard drive!
