Just scanning through some of the 9.99 titles... has anyone played any of these that can comment on if they're any good?

Blowout (PS2):

Corvette (PS2):

Dark Angel (PS2):

Genma Onimusha (Xbox):

RTX Red Rock (PS2):

I've played the original Onimusha on PS2 and liked it.

I've heard Dark Angel is supposed to be good...a lot like Buffy for XBox, but I haven't had the chance to play it yet :(

Genma Onimusha is tough as nails. There's this new doll that pesters you for hours. She's got massive blades for hands. It's frustrating as hell, but pretty much the same game save the HD and 5.1 support. There's still an easy mode that calms things down once you've died enough and it's the only way I can get anywhere in it.

RTX is horrible. Nuff said.

dark Angel is a pretty standard beat-em-up with the usual "find the blue/red/green/purple key" gameplay. Camera issues aside, I didn't mind it. Got panned by most people though. Could be because of the startling lack of beat-em-ups these days though. Actually, it plays ALOT like Minority Report.

Blowout is worth the paltry asking price.

It plays kinda similar to Contra, only there's a lot of exploration, door opening, etc. in addition to blowing everything to hell.

I enjoyed the little time I spent trying it out and intend on returning to play it in the near future.

I can't say whether or not any of those are any good, but I have heard good things about fellow bargain-binner "Mojo!" (Xbox/ps2). Usually my limit on a new game is $20 though, so I'm bound to get some of them eventually.

How about any of the other ones?

PS I've got Mojo. I didn't care for it but two buddies I had over played it for quite awhile. I may not have given it a chance but I wasn't hooked after 20 minutes and that's about as long as my attention span ever lasts.

Genma Onimusha is supposed to be the enhanced version of the PS2 title with a doll enemy with blades for hands that chases you from room to room like the Nemesis in Resident Evil 3. I've heard it's pretty good.

RTX and Dark Angel both suck. Horrible controls on them, and you'll doze off during Red Rock's first cinema.

I tried Dark Angel at EB, didnt really like it too much. The rest, I didnt have the pleasure.

I know these weren't on your list, but I wanted to throw in a couple more Xbox games that tend to retail for around $9.99. Those are Cirus Maximus and Quantum Redshift. I haven't played Circus Maximus but I've heard it's a blast in multiplayer and well worth $10. I do own Quantum Redshift and it's pretty decent. It also got generally good reviews in gaming mags.

Activision Classics (PS2), Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly (PS2), and a couple others I can't think of are also on the $9.99 list.

For just a little more money, the $19.99 Midway Arcade Classics disc (PS2) is an absolute steal. Very good emulations of 30 truly great games, and worth it for Smash TV and Rampage alone.

I have BLowout, but my PS2 won't read it... yet. When it works, I will say if I like it.
