Ok, before anyone else pays $20 - whether Australian or US - to get Chu Chu Rocket ... STOP!! Just tell me and I will go and pick you up one of the hundred million or so copies that are floating around the game shops here. In fact, in the game shops in Bristol they would literally give copies of this away because they had so many!! The other finds look better (although I'm not convinced that the DC gun was exactly a bargain ...)

CCR, even in the chain stores, sells for like 3 bucks here in the states. It's strange to see what's rare DC wise in PAL; for instance, Samba de Amigo really doesn't cost anything at all here stateside.

ChuChu is probably the most common DC game over here, since it was given away free when you registered for the DreamArena (and was a pack-in after that).
Samba got an extremely limited release in Europe, and it was (almost*) exclusively sold with the maracas, meaning an £80 ($125) outlay that was out of the league of the majority of gamers.
* I've been told than a miniscule number were sold stand-alone, but I never saw any myself.

I've got to say you pay way too much, $5 for an atari cart! what are you thinking? and the prices you pay for Dreamcast, are you buying from cashies or something?

Oooooookay.....
I am aware the prices are a little high....but!
Chu Chu Rocket - Unlike in Europe, CCR was never packaged with the DC console in Australia - nor was it given away as a bonus for signing up with Dreamarena.
Plus - this is the FIRST time I've ever seen it in ANY second hand stores (I've been collecting for about two years now).
So whilst it wasn't cheap, CCR is not the mega-common game here in Australia that is in Europe/US.
As for the Atari cart - $5 is the cheapest I've ever paid for one. In second hand stores, there are NEVER any 2600 carts - and the one store I know of that has several, is selling them from between $7 and $15 AUD!!! This new store I recently found is selling them at the cheapest possible price I can find.
I figured $5 was reasonable considering that if I were to try on ebay, I'd be paying $3-5 AUD in postage anyway.
This is the second time I've been bitched at for paying high prices. I suggest you lot try being a games collector in Australia - make that Perth, Western Australia - the most isolated capital city in the world. Prices are high - many games are rare. That's just the way it is.

Whahahaha dude try collecting in a city which is smaller than perth and didnt get half the systems aussie :) thats right i also have it difficult, but i still dont pay those kind of prices unless im desperate.. surely there are better sources than just second hand shops? what about the local classified or trader papers? try placing adverts in them asking for specific systems, thats how i get alot of my gear :)
Anyways not bitching at you, just trying to say your over paying, chu chu rocket was sold out new towards the end of the DC life over here for $20 NZ, if you can get it in NZ you can get it in aussie cos all of NZ's stock came from ozisoft aussie :)... plus when i have gone home to brisbane a few times ive found lots of cheap stuff at the weekend markets :) give them ago aswell,.

Got my copy of Zelda Collector's Edition the week before they were announced. Perks, y'know?
Also got Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Alex Kidd Lost Stars (complete but for one manual) for a combined total of $25 on eBay. Now I just need AK in Shinobi World (red, blue, I don't care), but I know I'm gonna pay out the ass for that one.

Classifieds? That's where my most overpriced stuff has come from. And I ALWAYS look in the weekend classifieds and there's never anything worth buying.
As for weekend markets - IF there are ever any (there haven't been any in my entire area for about 5 years now), there's NEVER anything worth buying.
Seriously - I wouldn't say it's hard unless it really was.
Maybe it's just the city I live in, as nothing is ever cheap.
