Model 1, with AC adapter and California games - all loose. 31.00 total

Is that a good price? Never bought a Lynx before

Yeah. Got mine with 3 games for $40. I'd buy it (Although you may later want to get a model 2).

hmmm, I thought they were higher than that. Just out of curiousity, whats the difference with the model 2 (its been a long time since I've seen one)

Got mine for three bucks (with California Games) at the flea market...

Sorry. Just gloating... :P

Anyway. Model 1 is the thin style, Model 2 is the thick style with backlighting. I've got the Model 2; I'm not sure which is more sought-after.

California Games rocks, though.

I'm not sure that's an accurate description. Lynx I is gray, long and a little bulky but it's also backlit and definitely not thinner than the Lynx II. Lynx II is narrower and black, a bit more compact.

That's better, thanks. I'd hardly consider myself an expert on the Lynx; it was just a good deal I couldn't pass up.

In fact, it's the first Atari system I've ever owned... :embarrassed:

IIRC the lynx I doesn't have a stereo headphone jack, it shuts itself off automatically after 15 minutes idle, shorter battery life. The lynx 2 has a button to just shut off the screen to save battery life.

I think you're right. I've only used my Lynx II ONCE! I still play with the original unit, despite it's unwieldy size. :)
