So I'm trying to fix this Nintendo, and this is what the problem is-
basically, it'll run the game fine for a while, but then the screen will get garbled and the game will reset. Does anyone think its a problem with the either the pin connector or something else that resets it when it heats up?

That's an odd way for a pin to act. It almost sounds like the cart. You've tried multiple carts no doubt? I'd slap a pin in and see, but I realize not everyone has a stack of pins laying around. Do you have an NES with a decent pin you could pull out temporarily, and try it? You could eliminate the pin that way. If it's the circuit board, I'd just get another circuit board, from a crappier looking NES.

Good luck!

Thats what I'm thinking of doing. I tried 3 carts last night, SMB3, Zanac, and Burgertime, all of which are cleaned, and Zanac ran fine the whole 40 minutes I played, Burgertime the 7, and SMB3 for about 5-10 minutes before zonking out, every time I tested it. My friend (who owns the NES) says it does this with all of his games, but i don't know how clean his carts are, and well, the pin connector was awfully gunked up when I cleaned it. So I suspect its the connector itself.

I just don't want to dig around the basement closet to get to my spare NES's, but it looks like I just may have to.

edit: SMB/Duck Hunt won't run on it without messing up after a few minutes, but pac-mania runs fine. I think the pins may need to be bent up to get it running fine again, because it seems that 3rd party carts or ones not as frequently used will do fine on this, but others won't.
